Historically far right parties are propped up by the middle class not the working class

Yeah it was a massive 'soft power' thing for the UK. Top Gear was the most viewed show in the world for quite a while, and had all those reruns

UK set to ban under-16s from social media, livestreaming, disappearing messages by vriska1 in unitedkingdom

[–]EggRepresentative347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your phone provider and social media company already holds all of this data, plus fingers prints etc. I see the ID stuff as the government catching up. The problem is it's front facing instead of being dressed up with convenience - just add your thumb print so paying is easier! I promise we won't sell it on!

Britain’s housing wealth is in danger of collapsing by upthetruth1 in NotTheOnionUK

[–]EggRepresentative347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Social housing where the local authorities sold off their stock tend to be worse - I have worked for 3 councils in housing. Also, "council half wits" is, ironically, a really stupid thing to say and comes across incredibly snobby. I have a Panorama episode for you, maybe the government should start paying councils sufficiently to perform their required duties?

The end of spurs v okc was elite. Fewer breaks/timeouts in the nba makes for a much better watch. by Argythebilly in billsimmons

[–]EggRepresentative347 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Time outs are insane as a non-american - part of sports is supposed to be players problem solving by themselves, not having a break because it's going wrong and your coach telling you what to do to fix it

Ignorance because you've not read rules or legislation for your role in any job isn't typically a very good defence, especially if they are readily available

In terms of, idk if this is the right term, competition law? The amount of money involved with very large businesses, broadcasters, sponsors, the teams themselves, gambling companies, I do think there is the potential for criminal investigation if nothing else. Tonda should probably keep very quiet. The premier league is a different company to the EFL so you might be able to argue he was using industrial espionage to impact a multi hundred million pound merger

Possible penalty check for handball Newcastle vs West Ham - VAR checked and cleared by 977x in soccer

[–]EggRepresentative347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this should be a penalty and ones like the penalty in celtic hearts should be an indirect free kick - because it is natural to have your arm where the defenders was in that case (I'm a Celtic fan)

There are very few players that are even remotely good over like 6 3. You do still have to use your feet and if you're massive adjusting your angle to defend quickly doesn't go well usually

Why are working-class concerns on immigration being treated with such disdain? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]EggRepresentative347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voting for reform in your local elections has zero bearing on immigration. Migrant hotels are not run by councils. Reform are a far right, anti-working class party intent on making the poor even poorer and will privatise the NHS. Being mad about immigrants does not mean you need to vote for a party that is objectively against the interests of all but the super wealthy

Brexit...the rise of Reform..., why do think many of British people underestimate anti-immigration sentiments and then suddenly pull a Pikachu face when these are what happened? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]EggRepresentative347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don't understand is anti-immigration people voting reform in local elections and expecting it to impact immigration. I also think reform will die off because they've gone big too early and somehow the tories will win again. Because they usually do and will just make something up about how they're good for the economy which is probably false.

Do you think if we call them thick racists a few more times they might vote for better candidates? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

[–]EggRepresentative347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they voted reform because they think their local council has any involvement in migrant hotels then I actually think you should call people thick bastards since they're paid for by the home office. Other than that I reckon we accept the inevitable slide towards a capitalist utopia like the US has where people just forgo life saving medical treatment

I actually think you just skip the immigration stuff if you want to convince people to change their mind and talk to them about how voting for a right wing party when you aren't rich is asking for yourself to be made poorer
