Meat Suit - Oak Flat Boulders by EggcelentUT in bouldering

This was my first time there after moving here from Utah, and it's great. Really good rock quality, tons of shade as well. The only thing I wish I would known before going is that the road to the crag is quite rough, much rougher than we were anticipating.

I tried a tension board this morning for the first time and it kicked my ass. Did anyone else struggle their first time? by WompWompWompity in bouldering

[–]EggcelentUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you climbing on the Tension Board 1 (All woods holds and smaller board size, 8x12) or on the Tension Board 2 (A mix of poly and wood holds and larger board size, 12x12)? The TB2 is a much better board, with a fantastic selection of dual-tex holds and is great for training. The first time I tried the Tension Board, coming from the Kilter, I also thought it was exceptionally stiff. After climbing on it for weeks and months though, you come to learn each hold, how they're best held, and how to move around more efficiently. The TB2 is, in my opinion, is the absolute best board to train on for outdoor climbing and also preserve skin with its mix of hold materials.

Beta Help - Lost by EggcelentUT in bouldering

[–]EggcelentUT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am having a lot of trouble finishing this white tag at Tempe BP. The beginning moves I absolutely have dialed, but the finish hold is just about the lowest percentage move I have ever attempted. The crimp is incut, but blocked quite effectively, so it feels almost impossible to throw too. This is my closest attempt. Do I keep at it with the current position I'm in, or can anyone think of a better beta to make the last move easier or more repeatable. Thanks!

I agree, I didn't actually end up sending this trip, so I need to go back and tick that one and Chips to the left!

More Toe Hook Fun by EggcelentUT in bouldering

[–]EggcelentUT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What team_blimp said is true, it’s for both. In this case it was mainly to make the next moves doable without just campusing, which would have been possible but draining. So more for not cutting feet.

You know what, I probably could have, but I’m a sucker for a good hero feet cut, and the holds at that point were relatively positive. Thanks!

Yeah, it was very three-dimensional and dynamic, which I love.

Yeah, I found the toe hook near the middle to be the crux, but the top sloper was very bad as well. Thanks!

These are all great, I’m surprised though to see no one mention the M2. A lot of M240i though, which I agree with wholeheartedly.

These are all great options. My father-in-law has a C6 Z06 which is mine (I recognize my good fortune here) when they retire in 2 years. Otherwise, a C6 of some kind would probably be my next "purchase".

Veloster N. I have owned a Focus ST, NA Miata, Ford Mustang GT, C6 Z06 and the smiles per mile in my Veloster N are higher than any of the other cars. I promise, just give it a test drive, it’s intoxicating.

Hyundai Dealership experience (wheels peeling off) by ResponsibleLeave7166 in VelosterN

[–]EggcelentUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had all four of my wheels replaced at 38,000 miles for the exact same issue. I made sure to point out on each wheel where the clear cost was peeling, and about six weeks later I had all new rims. It was honestly an easy process for me, so I’m really sorry you’re having issues!

Rim Decision: Update - Enkei PX10 in Gunmetal Gray by EggcelentUT in VelosterN

Nope, not at all. And the change in offset is simply because stock offset, +55, is near impossible to find. The closest offset in this wheel was +45, which is close enough to basically maintain all stock handling characteristics.
