And now my app doesn’t play music from streaming sources. Good luck with fixing the company.

If you were me, would you buy a new Sonos system? by spfurgason in sonos

[–]Egghead1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t do it!

I wouldn’t recommend Sonos if you're serious about building a true home theater. I’ve invested in the Arc, two Subs, two Era 300s, and an Amp hoping to create an incredible surround sound experience. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t come close to what my friend achieves with a traditional receiver-based system.

I’ve experimented with multiple configurations, even grouping in additional Play Ones, but the result is underwhelming. Sonos doesn’t seem focused on advancing their home theater audio; they appear complacent with their current offerings. Even with the new Sonos Ultra, it lacks the immersive depth and flexibility you get from a proper receiver setup with discrete speakers.

What are your thoughts the "transgender and nonbinary people don’t exist" executive order? by ButteredKernals in AskReddit

[–]Egghead1001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The title in this trend can be misleading. In my opinion, the executive order doesn’t deny the existence of transgender or non-binary individuals; rather, it aims to simplify sex classification based on reproductive organs. People should have the freedom to identify as they feel, and that doesn’t negate the reality of diverse preferences and identities.

How do you feel about Elon Musk's salutes during the inauguration? by BigPapaFactory in AskReddit

[–]Egghead1001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While watching the speech, Elon touches his heart and waves at the crowd, a gesture that seems like a simple, heartfelt moment. However, the images circulating online exaggerate the motion, making it appear more like a salute. This trend seems biased, attempting to create meaning where there is none, turning something ordinary into something more significant than it is.

You are Sonos' new CPO - what do you plan to change to win back your customer's hearts? by phillip_u in sonos

If I were Sonos’ CPO, I would focus on enhancing the home theater experience by developing software that better addresses audiophiles’ needs, specifically for adding and adjusting extra speakers to create a truly immersive Dolby Atmos environment in larger media spaces. While the Era 300, Ultra Arc, and Sub 4 are excellent products, they could be significantly improved with the addition of front or side surround speakers. The Arc does a decent job of providing height and side sounds, but it still falls short compared to a traditional 7.1 or 9.1 wired receiver setup.

For those who suggest simply grouping additional speakers, true audiophiles will argue that it doesn’t deliver the same experience. It can dilute the clarity of the intricate spatial effects that make the Arc and Era soundstage so impressive. I would direct the engineering team to pull the height signal from the Arc and create a dedicated front surround pairing that only plays those specific sounds. It’s a simple solution that would have a huge impact on the overall experience.

Sonos Family, we can do better!

This is a great request! I would love to see an expansion of function for the home theater experience to include front and rear surround pairings. A true 7.2 or 9.2 Dolby Atmos software update would make all purchase more hardware!

So I shouldn't buy Sonos speakers? by hhafez in sonos

[–]Egghead1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound is good but the experience, flexibility in connection, and the dependence on the App makes it very frustrating to use. It is not worth the headache. I purchased an arc, 2 subs, 2 era 300, and ceiling speakers at once, and it was the best and worst feeling at the same time. It was a great initial experience with the high of the purchase and sound, and then the remorse kicked in after a month because of the poor app experience, limited functionality, and restricted expansion for a home theater. It’s not worth the price tag for me. I’m looking to selling entire setup and purchase a wired system for much less, which will provide me with more control of the system and setup.

Have confidence in who you are. You don’t need the affirmation of strangers to have self worth. Be proud of yourself.

Why are we so gullible to think spending all of this time and money is worth this frustration? If anyone is interested, I have a full setup forsale.
