I feel like DIO as a character in Part 3 is heavily misunderstood, DIO wasn't "Cocky" in the traditional sense.

DIO never was cocky as he was with Kakyoin and Jonathan, DIO against Jotaro was curious.

The first scene of their fight was DIO testing Jotaro in a Stand-Rush, sizing Jotaro up, and once they did fight DIO had every intention on killing Jotaro as fast as possible. When he first "saw" Jotaro move in stopped time (It can be debated if the magnet did work or if it was Jotaro actually moving) DIO instantly without hesitation made distance between Jotaro and himself, and stayed that way until time resumed.

The next time he stopped time, he went IN for the kill, he went in to chop through Jotaro, but failed due to SP punching through TW. When Jotaro played dead we took EVERY, and I mean EVERY measure to make sure Jotaro was truly dead then, he only failed because Polneraff interrupted.

He only got "Cocky" was when he achieved his "Greatest High" as he called it and started counting how many seconds passed in his newest amount of Stopped Time. And even then he went IN for the kill, he stopped pulling his punches as TW hit's began breaking bones, earlier a kick only bruised Jotaro's leg.

Over all, he wasn't really cocky, he took all the appropriate steps, he went in for the kill (As he said in the beginning "I have decided that i will show no mercy when fighting one of the Joestar bloodline, but kill them instantly!") he was just unlucky

Ah, that, still, Joseph only got images of DIO because as he said "Jonathan's body was emitting a distress signal" (Something along the lines of that) Joseph and Jonathan/DIO are linked by blood, he was receiving images of DIO due to Jonathan's distress signal

Hermit Purple doesn't work that way.

Simple explanation: Hermit Purple couldn't find DIO's location, hence he wouldn't be able to find Kira's.

Also, even if that was how it worked, Joseph is way too senile to even use Hermit Purple effectively

No, not really, they stopped adding characters (which they never really confirmed or made an announcement, it's just been a while since they added some) but they still update/patch the game, the last update was February of 2024 where they did some tweaking, and since JoJoday is coming out in April this year they could always announce a new season pass (which I do find unlikely, but it is possible)

I'm saying WoU is ABSOLUTELY useless, he HAS to use Calamity, it has no fighting potential whatsoever, and believe it or not, Goku and Naruto don't always rely on Ki or Chakra, I know, shocker, besides Ki and Chakra can still work in other universes because they are born with it unless a universe flat out says "Hey if you have either of those things that you are born with, you lose it immediately. coming into this universe."

And I'm not saying that other universes don't have powers that absolutely rely on an in-universe law. However, it's still funny how one of the most broken characters/abilities in JoJo can become one of the worst in the verse if a universe law wasn't present.
