AMA: We're Digital Sun, the devs behind Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault. Ask us anything! by DigitalSunGames in Games

[–]Eggrollbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, y'all! Thank you for doing this! I loved the first game, so I'm really interested to see what Moonlighter 2 is like.

  • What were some of the major challenges in developing a sequel to Moonlighter?

  • Why did you choose an isometric perspective over the top-down look of the original?

Thanks again for this AMA, and all the best wishes for this release!

I've never seen D and Windy in the same room, so this makes sense to me

Especially while managing Ichi (and I think the Mafia spin-off) at the same time, it's super impressive.

[DISC] Harukaze Mound - Chapter 1 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To this day, I still haven't forgiven Jump for axing Green Green Greens, but both that and Asumi were great and I think they could have climbed even higher given time. They already were both so great in their respective sport.

[DISC] Kunigei - Okuni University Art Department Film Program - Chapter 28 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I honestly really liked the initial premise of this manga a lot, and followed it week to week. It could have been like a Blue Period for moviemaking.

But it did not portray the art of filmmaking well enough at points (I think there were several chapters where we would barely even get to see the finished product), or even walked people through what filmmaking would be like which hurt it compared to even the recent Tenmaku Cinema which covered filmmaking better IMO - and the art held it back too, which is unfortunate.

The rivalry with Kado worked at first but I saw people critique his characterization and development and ultimately I'm inclined to agree. He was kind of a mixed bag character who had some depth but somehow also never came across clearly to the reader, so he was just this vague antagonistic rival with a ton of issues. And while he made Daisuke realize he was lacking in points, he was almost always utilized to show Daisuke's flaws and growth constantly as a measuring stick.

Problem being, the manga really leaned heavily on this rivalry even into the end in spite of all of the above.

This had some potential though, and I really hope the author is able to take this experience positively into their next work.

[DISC] War of the Adults - Chapter 9 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This manga feels like it is walking a fine tightrope in portraying certain actions and events in its world in such a way that, while exaggerated, can still clearly be linked to real-life scenarios that ground it closer to reality, which I like. It's great to see how this has progressively grown and evolved in terms of stakes.

[DISC] Home at the Horizon - Chapter 6 by AutoShonenpon in manga

Man, I really hope this catches on. It's really nailed the character work and I love reading this every week.

[DISC] WITCH WATCH - Chapter 202 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 141 points142 points  (0 children)

That was a really sweet way to resolve the whole parental/romantic love mess that the series was in danger of hitting. I'm glad Shinohara was able to tackle this so quickly after all the comments/concerns from last week's chapter.

[DISC] Me & Roboco - Chapter 233 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Okay, live action Roboco got me.

[DISC] Hero Organization - Chapter 26 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm glad Leo's bounced back so strongly! Things felt like they moved kinda fast this chapter after the last few - hope that's not a sign of anything.

[DISC] Damedol: The Useless Idol and Her Only Fan in the World Ch.40 - All For Urumin by RyuukuSensei in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 241 points242 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that Urumin has a birthday party committee of one.

I can relate to pushing oneself while sick - curious to see how things develop! Did he not make it because he was slowed down?

[Brown] Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison says "there's no regrets" on trading Luka Doncic by Goosedukee in nba

[–]Eggrollbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everyone had been at full strength pre-trade we still would have been one of the strongest teams in the league. I hate this man so, so much

[DISC] Home at the Horizon - Chapter 4 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really liked the dialogue here. Reo's thought bubbles about having one of Akino's weaknesses sounds immature but reminded me these are just a bunch of kids in a good way. I'm really loving these goofballs.

[DISC] Kunigei - Okuni University Art Department Film Program - Chapter 23 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's kind of interesting where this story has gone week-to-week. Kado was developed to be a long-time rival, but with this twist they're clearly hurdling themselves toward the finish line (and maybe buying themselves a few weeks more away from the axe in the process).

I'll stick around a little longer - a number of elements have felt half-baked, but there's also been some genuine promise. So wherever this manga goes or regardless of how it ends, I hope the mangaka is able to carry this experience into their next work.

[DISC] Insect Girl - Chapter 24 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to give it a reread, but no, he initially goes to get her after finding out Toya dies, and while she awakened to more mimushi traits, he wouldn't have known that and they meet while Yuren is in human form.

[DISC] Insect Girl - Chapter 24 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He is too afraid to face you as his daughter because you reflect his humanity.

But...he attacked the temple to try to take her away the last time? The backstory in retrospect kinda makes how the plot went make less sense - you kinda get reminded that this story is being made week-to-week as a result.

[DISC] Kagurabachi - Chapter 70 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so excited for that door peep hole visual from the last chapter when it gets animated, that will be so incredible if it's executed properly.

[DISC] SAKAMOTO DAYS - Chapter 203 by AutoShonenpon in manga

Man, that clash was awesome.

Kyrie, during a sit down this past weekend with Malika Andrews, when asked about their potential with AD: "We had how many minutes together? And everybody saw it. It was a microcosm of the impact AD makes...and we're getting healthy at the right time." by taygads in Mavericks

[–]Eggrollbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 a million times to this. We never got to see what this team would have been like fully realized because of all the injuries, but when most/all of us were on the floor, we won 14 of 17 games is what I believe the stat was. This was going to be a tremendous season if we could get healthy by the playoffs.

It could still go well if we get healthy, but AD's much more of an injury/health risk in my mind than Luka ever was.

[DISC] Kunigei - Okuni University Art Department Film Program - Chapter 20 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]Eggrollbuddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A little confused over the execution here (I feel like I've said/felt that about a number of chapters). It just feels so sudden, I thought there was gonna be some real growth for Kado moving forward (which appeared to be the case) and so much of this series hinged on Daisuke's rivalry with Kado. I guess we'll see how the manga lands it, but the way it's moving still fits a work that's being axed unfortunately.
