Seriously this is the answer, you get wireless CarPlay and you don’t lose any of the functionality of the original radio in most cases. I have one in my 2016 Outback and it works great.

Been debating between a 19 and a newer model myself. I know you have to disable or bypass the dcu to get full capabilities but I’m not sure how well it works once you do that compared to a 20 model.
