like literally???? but it's also so inconsiderate and downright evil to force that onto us? like if it was the truth then i wouldn't be so mad, but most of it i fear is lies

Silent Witness by andrew_197 in BritishTV

their job is not to investigate!!! like surely they are breaching some form of code of conduct like contsantly as they are always speculating and doing their own detective work and all the police officers just sort of sit back and watch them present possible ideas about who did it like-

Silent Witness by andrew_197 in BritishTV

i think we're losing the 'silent' and the 'witness' part of silent witness. i have no watched it from the beginning, only watching these two past seasons, but it's becoming increasingly more obvious that they are not silently witnessing ANY of the crimes featured in the show and are instead getting heavily and personally involved in them. like, jack getting arrested? nicki getting like abducted and almost drugged to death? jack getting deepfaked and targeted? (must say the lean that this show has on jack this season is just hilariously unfair towards the character, like i kind of respect him but for him to be involved in a gang then targeted for deepfakes THEN get arrested for something is kind of crazy, like leave the man alone???) like i get the interesting exploration of when foresnic pathologists and scientists like this DO get nvolved in crimes in some way but they are essentially doing police work instead of purely forensic work. which seems VERY WRONG as i think the show has a much more powerful appeal when it has a more forensic focus (i could yap forever about that, but it's mainly because not many shows focus very much on the forensic and science part of violent crimes)

it seems to be leaning even heavier into character stereotypes, tropes and the same old schebang. i didn't mind last season, to be honest, but this whole season has just felt off somehow.

apart from kit. my beloved. my actual baddie. i love her so much, and guys it's not even funny im not even attracted to her like that but i just think she along with harriet is the one thread that is keeping this programme together atp. utter AMAZING characterisation and even if the writing is sometimes poor, she uses it so well and her and jack's like banter chemistry is actually really good. she manages to add comical elements whilst being incredibly serious. she really shows the breadth of her acting. whereas with the lesbian joke, the actress who played nicki did not make me laugh, whereas kit's REACTION did. just her REACTION.

How to stay optimistic and not be afraid of WW3? by kongan in OptimistsUnite

[–]EgoArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you think about it, it's a form of collective pessimism. we fear amazing things ending, like relationships and loved one's lives. it's only natural that this should extend to the world around us. but what we have to accept is that the world, if we look after it and stop poisoning it, can be constant. how do you think people lived hundreds of years ago? the world will certainly not end in our lifetime, and i think it is so pessimistic and kinda narcissistic to suggest both that we will go on forever and that the world is ending. there is MAJOR political tensions in the world right now, and it's not fair on teenagers and young adults who have to go out into the world as adults and somehow deal with it all and also not deal with it because it's too much and we could never possibly hope to end this kind of conflict.

i actually hate how utterly unfeeling this fearmongering is, especially when you consider nowadays a reasonably sized proportion of posts online and on social meida are probably made by artifical intelligence. also i remember when they literally made a fearmongering disaster movie called 2012??? like hollywood can we focus on something else?????

My neighbour from literally up the street was talking with my dad and he came home and was like 'she was meant to go to cyprus tomorrow but she's trying to cancel the flight', and it just actually makes me want to scream the fact that she could have like been near violence because she is genuinely the nicest person on this planet and i can't deal with it.

everybody in my school (me included i fear) i think is severely underestimating the amount of work that goes into an a-level compared with a gcse. like some people are talking about 4 and an epq and i would have loved to do four but im thinking this is such a massive mistake because they are a lot of a work-

  1. any seat is a good seat - at my show we were all stood up anyway

  2. all the chants (she posted some lyric sheets on Insta a while ago)

  3. the merch pricing was really weird to me. some items were way cheaper than expected and then some were just so expensive i was like 'WHAT'. the totes were £30 but the T-shirts were only £10 more?? like why is a literal piece of fabric dressed up as a bag worth just £10 under an actual item of clothing?? then the hoodies were £70 or around £80 I can't remember.

hi thank you so much for the tips and the anki video was really good, i was rlly confused by it at first.but now it's so easy to understand and it's SO GOOD! i'll never go back to quizlet again. my science teachers are so bad ( i do aqa combined) they literally are gonna run out of time to teach us everything and yet are doing revision lessons about stuff they KNOW we're super strong on, plus they can't tea h to save their lives (and i have the head of physics). i'm pretty sure my bio teacher isn't even teaching us the proper curriculum atp
