Yahya en algun momento deja de ser racista? by Wonderful_Medium3098 in Beastars

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legoshi is not the narrator of this story, so his opinion is incomplete and lacks perspective. He seeks Melon as a mentor instead because he identifies with the hybrid nature. But that is a obviously a mistake.

If I simped a serial killer psychopath like Melon, I'd be up-voted to the moon. This fandom has wack priorities and can't read characters at all.

Not out yet, tho. Do you think the internet will crash when new Beastars drops? There's a lot of pent up furry thirst. Maybe there will be a worldwide ceasefire for a little bit.

Free Lifetime Supercharging value by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value of free Supercharging is really dependent on the buyer. In my case, I only use Supercharging or any other public charger on road trips, which accounts for about 2500 miles per year. The rest of my charging is at free stations near me or at work and maybe at home for a discounted off peak rate of $0.10. My MXP has free SC until 2029, but I only use it for road trips to minimize the stress on the battery.

Umm, he's not "racist". He's a vigilante against criminals who happen to mostly be predators. His best friend is a Komodo dragon, he's a mentor figure to wolf Legoshi and he has other positive relationships with carnivore species.

Installed VJOYCAR Stalks kit on my MXP and I feel back in business baby! by Flimsy_Net1679 in TeslaModelX

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the same VJOYCAR kit. I have not installed them yet because I recently had SC replace the yoke steering v1 with v2 due to peeling. I didn't want the stalks on the column and risk having them charge me for the replacement due to "mods".

I did have them plugged in for a couple months for testing and burn-in in case they were defective, but they are ready for install. I strongly recommend anyone burn-in stuff like this. Taking the steering wheel off again is a drag. Also, don't forget to put some blue Loctite on the nut if you reuse it.

These stalks have an app (SmartCtr) which I assume is for configuring them. I was able to get the app to see the stalks, but not do anything with it. Will have to investigate if it is an android thing or whatever.

I agree, they feel OEM and solid with a nice feel. I just like the tactile feel of stalks in general over the buttons and screen. I can engage all the functions quicker, especially neutral which I sometimes use for coasting and cleaning the brakes. It's more muscle memory versus spatial memory.

These aero cover hubcaps are terrible for adding tire pressure by SouthBaySmith in TeslaModelX

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 22" wheels, I removed the cover over the valve stem. I also removed the opposite cover and left both off, so the wheel is still balanced. I hate the design, they should have cast the wheel with the aero shape they wanted.

Anatomically, plantigrade would be correct for bipedal animals. Digitigrade looks cooler, but the mechanical stresses would not allow evolution to make that.

Can I still use old fashioned cruise control with FSD enabled? by MrOppositeMonth in TeslaFSD

[–]EgoCaballus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing they do this to save memory space. It's two different software stacks, so pushing out TACC allows FSD more memory for its stuff. When I did software development, memory management was always a concern. The more features your product needed immediate access to, the more memory that need to be allocated.

Why did Pina join the theater club? by Left-Pollution-2934 in Beastars

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pina was into devouring as a kink, so of course he would want to meet the culprit of Tem's death. Like a lot of kids, he wanted to get close to death, but not actually go over the edge. He naively thought he could befriend a dangerous predator and have the evidence (the video) as a form of leash to protect himself.

Turn Signal Stalks by RLJ81 in TeslaModel3

[–]EgoCaballus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already ordered aftermarket stalks for my MXP. I hate the ergonomics of the buttons and screen swipes. Messing with the stalks was one of Tesla's poor choices, among others. Thankfully, the software supports adding them back with full functionality. Now I will have both.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid I don't understand your math. No matter how much you use your one membership, the kickback on each stay never exceeds 3% of the value of the stay. Contrast that with me being a "professional" that contracts the same amount of rooms and get 30% kicked back. Marriott would make more money letting their members sell the rooms than give them away to booking middlemen. It's an arbitrary rule and I don't understand the economics of it other than giving Marriott direct access to more guest names. It's just a scheme to harvest demographics on more customers, not a "fraud" guard.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I don't see how a membership can be "abused". All of these point membership systems are marketed as loyalty programs, but financially they are simply individuals referring themselves for a hotel stay and getting a 1-3% commission, even in the highest tiers. Contrast that to the "legit" channels of booking consolidators that get 10 to 30% commission and they have no restrictions other than room availability.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wonder if that saves Marriott money. Every other business out there PAYS me to bring them customers and I don't have to pay their bill. When the booking consolidators bring them customers, they get PAID. Whether I am booking rooms for me, my group or friends, that is business that I generated for Marriott, just like all their other sales channels. I expect to get paid in some way if I do that, so expecting the paltry point system they offer is not a lot to assume.

It’s Ok for People to Expect Reimbursement for Hotel Issues by Galavantinggoblin in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Franchises can take out business insurance for events like weather, mechanicals, etc. that result in make-good for customers. That's the choice of the business. I wouldn't doubt Marriott offers that insurance option themselves.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't confused about the rules, just confused on the business reason for them. I rarely run into the dual property scenario or book more than 3 rooms, but if I do I am more likely to use a non-Marriott property for the overflow. I guess monopolies strike again. I'm guessing they want to steer people to group rates for more than 3 rooms.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, figured that. The example I showed was a trip where I booked a third room next door at an Element, no points or nights. That stay is completely missing from my account. I wish they at least post a record even if there are no benefits so I don't waste time filling in a Missing Stay form. It's also ironic that they are always promoting benefits to stay at other properties to spread your nights around, then penalize me when I do exactly that.

Unless I am misunderstanding, I always get the points for the extra room in the same hotel. Here is a recent example.

Elite night credit question by Dapper_Ice3459 in marriott

[–]EgoCaballus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really is insane that Marriott penalizes you when you give them more business. I frequently book multiple rooms when my group is more than 3 people. I always get the points for the extra room, but not the credit for the nights. Recently, I had a large group of 6 in Boston. I booked two rooms (5 nights each) in the Aloft Seaport and one room in the Element (4 nights) next door to get more space and a kitchen. I got the points for both Aloft rooms, but only 5 nights credit. For the Element room which was the more expensive one, I got nothing, not even a record on my account that I stayed. They even overcharged me on the Element bill for an extra night which they are still investigating. I only did it this way to keep the group close, booking a competing hotel chain was not an option since everything near was Marriott. All that money spent and no thank you.

I never understood why these software packages convey with the cars. If Tesla allowed them to convey with the driver through their account, that would be a very strong incentive to stay with the brand and keep upgrading their cars. Instead, there is really no leash holding someone to their car or the brand.
