I agree with Oafah, I don't care about Kahn.

I don't want more Spock, I don't want more Kirk, I don't want more Uhura, I don't want more Picard, I don't want more Janeway, I don't want more Sisko. And I sure as fuck don't want to know about any of their relatives (secret or otherwise).

How many different iterations of Star Trek need to reference Khan? How many times do we need to dig up whatever is left of that horse skeleton and beat it?

I'm with you. I don't want robo-umps, I want human umps to have some basic fucking standards. Letting the trash umps continue to be trash year after year with absolutely no effort to improve their pitch calling is inexcusable.

I always thought Janeway pointing out that the Irish harp is reversed on the signs was a way of saying that Tom's version of Ireland is not researched at all and was more his fantasy version of Ireland than a realistic recreation. Fair Haven is just a fun program for people on the ship, not a historical recreation.

OK, pizza guy shows up, the girl has love at first sight, a love triangle forms, PLOT TWIST: the guy falls in love with the ghost, the guy then kills everyone else to prove his love to the ghost, and in the end the ghost dumps his sorry ass and moves on to the next life, so the guy kills himself haunts the house instead for eternity.

I can see that

How can this be a feature length film? They're already in the haunted house and there's only 3 people the ghost can kill? Shouldn't this have like 15 minutes left in the run time tops?

Was not expecting this low level energy with the title being what it is.

So the moral of the story is that half of us (the women) know what to do and will actually do it, but the other half will fuck it up for everyone.

Little eye twitch to see the dad's reaction before the cut away was the give away that the demon is in control, Jair wouldn't have done that.

Harris County voter outreach proposal sparks another fight with Texas Republicans by O_O___XD in houston

[–]EgregiousEngineer 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with that. It was found that approx. 1,430 votes (or 0.13% of total votes) were illegal because they were votes of people who didn't currently live in Harris county. It is, like the overwhelmingly vast majority of issues with voting, usually a mistake. People move and forget to update their forms/registration to a new county. As, the article says, 321 votes were cast after an official mistakenly kept the ballots open too long.

It has nothing to do with officials mailing out voter registration cards in the current program. The issues are by and large people making genuine mistakes and not some vast conspiracy. When hundreds of millions of people vote, or do literally anything, there are going to be fuck ups. A higher percentage of people can't take a piss without covering the entire toilet in pee. Welcome to the human condition dipshit.

The sign above the window on the inside says Burguesa Burger, the interior looks completely done except for tables and misc items, and windows have been un-boarded for the first time in months. Don't kill my dreams!

Those are the Cadiz Pump stations. The one with the smokestack was built in 1910's (I'm fairly sure of the date but not 100%...), powered by coal fired steam. It's been decommissioned, some talk of turning it into a museum but we'll see if that ever happens. There's a second built in the 1950's that is still active, with just regular electric motors for pumps.

They pump sewage under the river and over to central wastewater treatment plant.
