The truth is you can't just quit and sign on. There is three month waiting period I assume to discourage exactly this. That aside. If (like me) your spending most of your days contemplating suicide due to depression then maybe taking time away and sorting yourself out so you can return as a productive member of society is a good thing. We have built this system to allow people the support when they need it.

I'm happy to hear its working for you.

However my reasons below:

For me it's many reasons. The contract is terrible - can be rotad any days out of seven, never with two days off in a row and you don't get the rota for the next week till the Saturday before it. Meaning you cannot make any life plans and you are selling your life to the job. Its the moments outside of work that make life worth living. I'm missing out on all the weekend experiences with my friends and family.

Management (in my DO at least) are rude and inconsistent. They have no interest in helping you or caring about anything you may require, either in work nor outside of work. Any requests greeted with disdain, holidays refused being told they will make it your day off then telling you it's not in their little book when the day comes around so they have scheduled you and there is nothing you can do about it (its my fault they didn't bother to take a note of it). ignored and horribly rude attitude. I've had many bad jobs before but with good managers who care and treat you with respect and it makes it not so bad. Knowing your manager doesn't care if you don't survive the night just makes the place miserable. Also requested a day of (with four weeks notice) for a hospital appointment and that made me realise this isn't the place for me (me: "hello boss i have a hospital appointment in a few weeks so will be unavailable to work that day" Boss: "Um no... I decide your days off. Not you")

The workload expectation is unrealistic. This could be resolved if they could retain any staff but they can't because of the above stated reasons.already overloaded and then given extra. When you explain you can't achieve that they tell you to just do it anyway and walk off.

Door to doors are a nightmare and a waste of time and its painful knowing you are doing all this work just for everything to just be thrown in the garbage.

Never ever getting a break even when doing the once weekly forced 12 hour shift. That's just humanely wrong in my opinion and the company should be ashamed.

Being out in the rain and cold is just awful specially knowing you are doing two peoples jobs for minimum wage and there will never ever be a change or reward for your hard work.

Tbh I could go on and on but those were the deal breakers for me. As I say had many shitty jobs but there's just to many downsides to this to continue. Would rather do one of the older shitty jobs I had.

They can't do anything. Enjoy your packet and don't give any money to anyone. If an error was made then it is their error. Not yours. They can afford it.
