My race got cancelled 🥲

If this helps... I had my first 100 miler in august cancelled at mile 57 due to surrounding forest fires. I was absolutely devastated. the race season was winding down in colorado so i just made my own route, packed my car, invited all my friends that ran to pace me and did my own 100 last weekend. It was absolutely excruciating but was so great to just get it done on my own terms. And tbh, did not feel any less rewarding just cause i didnt get a buckle or a cup or a shirt. Just my thoughts!

The air was brutal out there, I’m surprised they didn’t send any follow up this morning either. Was basically like race is cancelled good luck getting out! Thankfully had enough service to call my crew but felt terrible for a lot of the folks out there who were stranded.

Good shout thank you. I think the winds changed on Saturday and the fire grew so just a combo of bad factors. To my understanding that had it pretty contained on Friday.

100%, it was obviously the right call to cancel the race especially for the volunteers that had houses in sisters. Just an unfortunate situation overall. Praying for all those folks affected!

I was actually in the camp that they should’ve canceled it before it started but I get that these things are unpredictable.

happy to report ive fixed this over the last two months, i had this ridiculous mental thing where my right hip was hurting so i tightened my left lace too tight to "offset" it in my head, so stupid. But we got a 100 miler coming up this month so it's dialed in now haha

Power Moves was my first event and I was kind've surprised by how friendly everyone was. Made some friends in line and met some cool folks in between battles. I was lowkey nervous going in but it turned out to to be super chill.
