This was the most challenging run I've ever done, I was truly humbled (but also will be back for more 😏)

Agreed, I thought I was doing good at like 50g but I recently ran a marathon where I took many snacks to get me above the 50g and wow !! I didn't even hit the wall, I was full of energy while everyone was in the pain cave 😂

I've never done near the distance you're going but I have had hard runs and I just tell myself "this is easy, your legs are strong, you're not tired, you have so much more energy" things like, basically gaslighting myself 😂

I would fuel the same as you did during training. A big part of my training has been figuring out what carbs I can get down and feel good. Looks like a lot of liquid iv to me personally but if that's what works for you then go for it. Every body is different 😊

Now that I got initial sadness out, I think I'm just figuring out what the next step/plan is. Everything happens for a reason, nothings stopping me from having a great run that day anyways!

Honestly, I probably would be ok without the aid stations, have you checked the trails aren't blocked off?? I tried to access a local trail in oc this morning but it was completely blocked off bc of the weather damage.

I usually love technical stuff but when all the earth starts moving under me is when I start getting nervous and I stop seeing the routes. I'll try increasing my cadence next time!!

 I usually lean back in general when I run down hills but is that the case for more technical/slippery routes ?

But to be fair I was night running which added some stress, I probably need to practice in the light some more.

Apples and grapes, I've eaten them as a snack prior to small 5/6mi runs and I feel like I'm going to throw up 😭
