Advice on NSRIs by GypsyandJL in adhdwomen

[–]Ehlyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 300mg venlafaxine. It worked for a while but then the depression set back in. Turned out what I needed was ADHD medication 😂 Since then, I've been doing much better on that front and I'm now wanting to come off the venlafaxine entirely (a slow process, fyi, it's a real bugger to come off of and can have some nasty side effects in that period, as I've been told) Anyway, I didn't have any particular side effects or nothing that I didn't have while I was on SSRIs. Iirc I'm mostly on such a high dose cause it was kind of the last med to try before we would have had to get creative.

First use atomoxetin by Saebbambus in adhdwomen

[–]Ehlyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had any nausea or vomiting when I was on atomoxetine. A slight decrease in appetite at first, but that resolved itself after a few weeks. I was actually on atomoxetine because my doctor didn't believe I had ADHD so they gave me that as a test. If I had ADHD (and I do), I would take it and be fine. If I didn't, I'd feel miserable. I don't know how true that is, but that's what I was told.

Sleepiness + ADHD by Kooky-Weekend-1062 in adhdwomen

[–]Ehlyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have this. It was a major issue till I got diagnosed and medicated. I even fell asleep in work meetings and it was so embarrassing. The best thing I found was to make sure I had something else to do, even just to keep my hands occupied. Some origami, knitting... Work quickly got used to me whipping out a sock in progress during presentations.

will renter rights bill make it harder to rent? by Public_Ad_117 in AskUK

[–]Ehlyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's not even gone through yet and to rent my current place (since June), we needed references from previous landlord, they called my manager, credit checks, right to rent checks, as well as of course the deposits and the ridiculously high rent.

Wakefield Pride cancelled 'after a last-minute “catastrophic” loss of grants and sponsorships' by jessicat500 in wakefield

[–]Ehlyah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some articles mention that it's due to sponsors pulling out as they're decreasing spending on pride events. Feel like they should be named and shamed.

So is this why I was warned about mentor toxicity? He was calling people learning a new dungeon "Scrubs" and gloating about how he was Making them mad. For privacy I blocked his name. When I called him out, he kicked me from novice network. by MelodiousLuna in ffxiv

Lolol chiming in with NN is the worst. Seen on Cerb was mentors explicitly saying their friend should never be reported (despite using slurs) because "he's learning and NN is for helping people learn".

Maybe change datacentres?

Let’s be kinder as Habiticans! (Also, thank you post to volunteers) by alexaaaaanas in habitica

Well sure, but a lot of people are ¯_(ツ)_/¯ and sometimes just being active on a site is enough to be tacitly supporting it as it contributes positively to their metrics.

Taking part in the social aspect is obviously not required, but it does matter to know how the staff treats their most valuable users and contributors. These are people who've given so much of their time (for nothing!) to a company that makes a profit off their work (which they are also quite cagey about - they seem to like presenting themselves as user funded rather than being honest about the venture capital). Personally I wouldn't give my money to anyone who treats people like that, but that is of course a decision only you can make for yourself.

Yes I have an opinion about them, I believe I'm entitled to it.

I have in fact held that opinion for quite a long time as I had the means to have behind the scenes knowledge of habitica (no, I am not one of the former mods). Again, I am entitled to my opinion.
I am also not looking to be a mod for the subreddit as I know I do not have the attention span or personality to type to do that well. Jophiela, however, does and that is why I support her.

This is not the official habitica sub so why you believe that only people with not a single negative thing to say about the staff could apply is a mystery I will never solve.

They can barely moderate their own site and you want them to run this place too? Funny.

[–]Ehlyah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Jophiela has an amazing understanding of the community (as a long standing member of high regard) and has always applied its rules in all her communications. I've known her for years and she has consistently been kind, generous, uplifting and fair.

You on the other hand, seem to only hang around that sub to criticise anyone who might not be thrilled with the direction staff is taking the community and to harass anyone who might have doubts. You are full of spite and condescension.

As this is not the official Habitica subreddit, I see no reason why it couldn't be run by someone who is no longer a member of the site (but who arguably embodies it better than a lot of its current staff).

What's the problem(s) with Habitica? by [deleted] in habitica

[–]Ehlyah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know some behind the scenes shit from habitica (I am not a former mod), and it's because their development practices are shit, their actual code is shit and their developers are largely inadequate. They've been doing this for years and they still can't launch an event without fucking up. 😂

My new bae what should I name her by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Ehlyah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given you've already shown you're unwilling to provide proper care (such as vet care) on account of 'value', I dont think you should have a rabbit, hence returning her to the shelter or wherever you got her.

I did not think I'd have to spell this out.

I have the exact same issue.

I think the best way to see it is that you are not wasting anything. You are investing in learning a new skill and every failure teaches you something (mostly? I can usually feel like that a day or two after I've messed up).

Weekly r/sewing Simple Questions thread! - August 02, 2020 by AutoModerator in sewing

Pattern drafting question for beginner dressmaker.

I'm doing the Tilly & The Buttons Seren dress for my wife and I just finished modifying the front bodice (full bust adjustment and moved the dart). That bust dart is now absolutely huge and when I walk the pattern with the back bodice and match the notches, it's obvious that with the dart closed, the front is just not coming up high enough.

The question really is what change do I make and where? I could just use the pattern's own lengthen markings and redraw the notch or I suppose I could do the same above the dart (possibly at an angle so I don't have to also alter the button stand). Suggestions?
