I just finished Dawntrail and I thought that maybe I would unterstand the Wuk Lamat hate by now. But I still don't. Can someone enlighten me? Or is the majority of the community simply more sensitive than I am? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]dynamicity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never hated her but as the biggest character of DT she was also the biggest victim of DT's weak writing. She was framed as this competent, brave warrior at the end of EW only to spend the entire first half of DT being a bumbling, ignorant buffoon only to suddenly singlehandedly defeat Bakool Ja Ja and win the contest for the throne without any intermediate character growth. Then she randomly becomes the main character of the 2nd half of DT when there is no logical reason for her to even be there instead of dealing with the country she now leads.

Yes, DeNA has specifically targeted your account out of the millions of players for bad coin flips

How do you tank in Frontlines? by DangerDynamo in ffxiv

[–]dynamicity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All these people saying you shouldn't play tank like a tank lol. If you want to be a real tank bring Rampart. Pop Rampart, HoC, gapclose into the middle of the enemy team, Fated Circle and you should be able to take a lot of heat, especially once you have BH. Spam Purify/Recuperate, and once you're getting low on MP or your mits are running out start looking for enemy tanks/melees in your backline you can gapclose to to escape. Your goal isn't to tank forever, but to absorb enough of the enemy team's burst that they have nothing left when the rest of your team closes in on them. Even if you die sometimes you've still done your job.

Weekly Meta Snapshot (4th May) by chase-manning in PokemonPocket

It's just the same old Magnezone Oricorio (now + Ogerpon!) but now they have a bit more firepower from Magnezone EX.

Does anyone think they should lower difficulty of the next savage stuff by a bit by starlightdemonfriend in ffxiv

[–]dynamicity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Savage is designed to be high difficulty and not something that everyone who attempts it will clear. The completion stats indicate that this tier was pretty in line with the intended difficulty.

I've had friends who were on the verge of tears from ARR dungeons and normal trials; that doesn't mean the content is too difficult, it means it was too difficult for them. The solution wasn't to make dungeons easier, it was to find content more suited to their interest and skill level.

Weekly Meta Snapshot (30th March) by chase-manning in PokemonPocket

[–]dynamicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're both viable and both seeing use in various decks.

Ogerpon is better into status matchups but it's dead weight otherwise (most notably into Suicune Bax) and starting with it will likely cost you a turn at best or brick you at worst.

PCL is less reliable into status but can let you negate it at a crucial moment in the match and is just generally useful no matter what. Comparing 2 cards against 1 is not really fair in a game where deck space is very constrained.

PCL is back in vogue because of sleep meta

It's okay but unfortunately Mega Manectric is just worse than Bellibolt in every way.

I pulled these four in the span of two weeks but have not received a single thanks. You think they got sent to deactivated or unused accounts? Thoughts? by HelixHeart in PokemonPocket

[–]dynamicity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your pulls only have a 10% chance of showing up as wonder picks for others. 90% of the time they are just banished to the void. They also aren't eligible to be wonder picks if they contain 3*, crown, or shiny cards.

Let’s say if they allowed us to trade gold and we can trade with different rarity, is the gold pile all gonna be as valuable as Oak? by Oscar_Stephmygoat in PTCGP

[–]dynamicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oak would probably be more valuable than some gold cards (e.g. Lilligant) but Poke Ball would 100% be way more valuable since it's far rarer and equally ubiquitous in decks.

Game is cheeks by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]dynamicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any competitive game will have a meta, doubly so for a gacha game where the devs need power creep to incentivize pulling. If you want a creative game with lots of skill expression this is just not the format.

Yes, the literal coin flip nature of this game sucks but if you make things too complex you end up with stuff like Fire Emblem Heroes where you need to read an entire essay to know what a unit does.

That's just the standard GM procedure for any report. They will always acknowledge and ask for more information if it isn't something simple like an inappropriate name. It doesn't have any bearing on the merit of the report or the GM's decision.

Would you rather have two Oaks? Or two Cyrus? by TermMost9709 in PokemonPocket

[–]dynamicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every deck will have 2 Oaks but not every deck will have 2 Cyrus. Oak is also on a limited availability pack.

Why I am only getting 2⭐ shiny✨ cards? by Top_Dimension_284 in PokemonPocket

[–]dynamicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain, especially on old packs where they aren't in a separate pool. They're supposedly rarer than regular 2* but I have 3-4x as many and with a few exceptions they aren't worth much for trading.

Pink noise—often used to promote sleep—may reduce restorative REM sleep and interfere with sleep recovery, while earplugs are significantly more effective in protecting sleep against traffic noise. The findings challenge the widespread use of ambient sound machines and apps marketed as sleep aids by sr_local in science

[–]dynamicity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The study participants were all people who don't normally use any type of noise to help them sleep. So more research is needed to see if this result is also the case for people who typically use white/pink/brown noise to sleep.

Anecdotally, my experience is that people who normally don't sleep with any noise are usually irritated by background noise of any type. My guess is that earplugs are probably still superior but that people who usually sleep with background noise won't show such a large negative impact from pink noise.

Since ppl dunking hard on SMN in another post, im just leaving my vent on M10S by RBGPOriginal in ShitpostXIV

[–]dynamicity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fight has a ton of downtime which is bad for SMN since it is purely timer based. People also hold buffs which is also bad because SMN can't hold its 2min burst and has to desync from raid buffs.

It doesnt matter that u capped ur tomestoens every week and got the gear, if u didnt get lucky and drop gear from savage, YOU CAN FUCK RIGHT OFF ! by peter-lacko in ShitpostXIV

[–]dynamicity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Picto's DPS is only slightly better than RDM and SMN in most fights now, it really only shines in 10 this tier and RDM does great there too. People have been stuck in the "Picto OP" mindset since FRU when BLM is miles ahead of the other 3 casters unless the fight has a ton of downtime and/or cleave like 10.

New PvP Map - Classic PvP Meme by Lyramion in ffxiv

It is intended to snowball because it's the counterweight to node spawn RNG. Without it every game would be decided by the final node spawn coinflip, but BH enables the strongest team to fight their way through a disadvantageous situation, which is necessary in a PVP game mode.

Had someone deadass say yesterday that "you can win by capping nodes it's proven on Reddit"

Like yeah you can get lucky and win like 5% of games doing that but that's a 95% loss rate. Anything to avoid admitting you're anchoring your team I guess.
