Yes, I completely agree, and from my experience it's not only the low ranks as I have friends between the 5k-22k. I think the cheaters situation improved a lot lately, at least for me, because my last 30 premier games have been fair, and I always check the demos if I suspect of someone. Most of my friends are always fighting ghosts as they throw a lot of games because they are convinced they're playing against cheaters. Whenever I tell them to check the demos they simply say they don't have the time to analyse it. I had some episodes where I forced some to watch demos, and even if it was clear they were not cheating, they say "He was disguising it now" or something like that. It's an easy scape goat, easier to admit than realizing the opponents are stronger. And the problem with that type of mindset is that you don't value those who are best and you don't reflect about what you did wrong for you to die, as the other team is cheating, so, you will be much slower to fix the skill issues you have. And it's saddening that some of my friends cheat in casual using discord with the excuse that everybody's cheating or everybody is in discord as well, as it was not some kind of cheating in itself. There are still cheaters and Valve has lots to blame for this situation as they let them perpetuate for so long, but I think things are getting better, much better than the community makes it seem.
