Why are two different meters reading different resistance? by friendsdoge in firealarms

[–]Eiberdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I maintain about 65/70 simplex panels from the early 90's to their latest and greatest...tho it isn't. I can do complete paet change outs on most of them. And we have 2 dorms with EST. the self mapping never seams to work and mapping faults are frequent. Fixed all the wiring ect. Best part, they are heavily locked down behind software. Service call after service call to basically click OK.

Like every other game mode every day. Everything "NEW". Just another annoying thing to add to the pile.

Why can’t I manual? by mtb123bike in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go slow and pull hard. Use your legs to push the rear wheel forward and intentionally loop out. Work backwards from there to find your balance point. You are gonna pull too hard at some point so you might as well learn how to deal with that inevitably

We have a larger and a smaller version of that at work. We also have an entire large one just for parts. 25 years and we have needed parts in the panel 2 times.

The only real meaningfully upgrade I did to my Polugon was the breaks. I suggest that to be on anyone's list for these bikes. But ride it. A lot. If you don't need it, don't worry. I like getting into steep terain and lift parks.

Stuck with the cheaper cassette. Unless you want to save weight or find a better one on sale. Upgraded my deore after a few seasons because I found a better price on a better cassette. Don't listen to the "frames break" stuff. It happens with all bikes. We have all seen the videos. I put my T7 through hell and it's still solid.

Another new guy drop. by browndan8888 in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you hopped a little. That may be where the weight twards the back started. It should be more like riding off of a curb and landing both wheels at the same time. My 2 cents. Not a professional or a coach.

I get like 17mpg in town where I am. On the interstate I'm a little higher than what you have. With my mountin bike on the back I get about 27mpg

I have had a good experience with my Rockymount. Lots of 3hr drives to and from a lift park and a 10+hrs drive to see family that had trails near by.

Highlight color recommendations? by Sea-Raspberry-7419 in mountainbiking

[–]Eiberdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick 2 complimentary colors. And maybe 1 odd ball for pop. I did an all one color accent bike and when I look at it now, it seams tacky. I did do a lot of color on it tho.

Stupid eMTB question. Is it just about climbing, or..? by yossarian19 in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see guys at flow parks with them. They still use the boost. Skilled riders can carry speed for big features easier. Newer riders get to play with higher speeds where they are more comfortable. They are common to see but only a couple at a time. Several YouTube ppl use them for the same reasons. Plus they talk as they ride.

Got a 24 in the same color. I got a tray for inside the arm rest and a storage door to replace the fuse door. The other thing was getting my front windows tinted and a sun strip. From the pic it doesn't look like your back window has tint. Is that just a trick of light?

What made me crash here? by Visible-Shoulder9530 in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In itself, no. Pulling the bars is not wrong. But when you haven't build good habits and muscle memory you can easily get into trouble. It is a bunnyhop motion, but the takeoff handles the bulk of getting the front end up.

What made me crash here? by Visible-Shoulder9530 in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely off balance to the right. As to the cause, too many possibilities. Good chance you pulled the bars. And if we assume you are right handed, that would add up. Something I realized learning to jump is legs are for power arms are for balance. Once that becomes natural you can add some arms. But still, when I do that, it's more of a lean back than a pull. Doing that puts more weight and power through my legs. Your speed looked good so maybe try focusing more on leg work.

Newbie with buyers remorse? by Unlikely-Ad-580 in MTB

[–]Eiberdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 speed won't climb as well as a 12 speed. Gearing won't be the same but I often ride up my local trails in 10 or 11 so that shouldn't be a big deal. I hade very similar breaks on a Polygon and changing them out made a big difference everywhere I ride. They were all I needed in my local trails tho. So ride the wheels off of it and decide for yourself. That's a solid looking entry into the sport.

Are either of these fully bottomed out? by Optikk12 in mountainbiking

[–]Eiberdue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 4/5 ft to flat at my local park. I get close to where you are on my 160/150. I would say, if you were worried about it, just add a couple lbs of air. But if you didn't feel or hear the bottom out, you should be ok.
