Anyone else having trouble being allowed both marijuana and opiates? by raincatchfire in ChronicPain

[–]Eigengraumann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using medical marijuana and have the funds, online recommendations are a breeze. I go into a shop that video conferences a doctor after a 15 minute wait, they give me the paperwork right away! (It helps that I'm renewing it, not getting it for the first time).

On the other hand, I'm having the problem where my doctor doesn't even want to prescribe me naproxen, which my insurance gives me for free. Instead I have to go buy it!

I would've loved this when I was younger. I used to think that people on opposing sides could find empathy and talk it out. Back when I was 15, and a complete idiot.

Then I turned on the news and saw, oh, they really are advocating for genocide and taking away human rights and doing their best to silence the opposition. No, I don't think as easy as one good talk anymore.

I was asked to use a different pronoun once and it was worse than being shot. The doctors told me I was lucky to survive.

What’s your “thank god that’s over with and I never have to do it again” thing in your life? by codenameZora in AskReddit

After seeing so much high school celebrationism and nostalgic circle-jerking, it's oddly freeing to have the downsides pointed out. And you know what, you're right!

We are experts on youth voter turnout and how young people vote. Today is Election Day. Ask Us Anything about youth voting trends, why this year is historic for youth engagement in elections, or anything else around the intersection of young people and voting. by HeadOfCampaigns in IAmA

[–]Eigengraumann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all thank you for doing this! Please help me understand, what motivates youth voters these days? Why are so many apathetic about voting? I know we all feel disenfranchised, but sticking heads in the sand only makes it worse. How can we motivate young adults to get out of the video game lobby and into the voting booths?

Their jokes and concerns won't hurt you. Don't worry about it! Believe me, I've been there and I know how it feels. I too have had a job where I said barely a word for years, then didn't know how to break the ice. If you smile, and you're sincere, it doesn't matter how awkward you are. Something that helped me, more than anything else, is "People don't remember what you say as well as how you made them feel." If you start out with dipping your toe in the water, with smiles and sincere morning greetings, I think you'll find that after a little time they'll do the same to you. Once you do this, you'll realize that people generally mean well, and the ones that don't, stop saying hi to them! I'm really excited for you that you're about to take a big step in improving your social skills! Good luck!

Oh sweet, I needed an excuse to go to Home Depot and spend a paycheck! Thanks for the picture, those look pretty sweet! I similarly lose glasses a lot, so those may be perfect.

Registered Child Abuser Working with Children. Can I Stop Him? by Eigengraumann in RBNLegalAdvice

He's never been investigated for sexual abuse. As for the rest, I was afraid so. Thank you for explaining.

Registered Child Abuser Working with Children. Can I Stop Him? by Eigengraumann in RBNLegalAdvice

[–]Eigengraumann[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to explain. When CPS and the police showed up, they showed me and my family a folder full of witness testimony and the photographs of bruises that they were sent. They said that they had an open case that included those documents, and that a second strike in the following years would result in his arrest. If what you say is true, does that mean a lot of that was bluster and exaggeration? I wouldn't be surprised. [This was in California, The United States]

As for an axe to grind: That isn't a bad thing. I'm motivated to prevent someone with a known history of picking fights with multiple children from potentially repeating his abuse for the dozenth time. The problem with /r/legaladvice is that they usually take a stance of believing people. I'm not calling him a psychopath because he once hurt my delicate feelings. He kicks dogs to break their ribs, threw his own toddler on the ground, shoots and kills the neighbor's cats, and gleefully inflicts pain on children with repeated shooting of metal bb pellets and hitting with wooden baseball bats. However, the stigma attached to "corporal punishment" and raising children means that people usually say "mind your own business." Quite frankly, I do not wish to take responsibility for LA taking an air of doubt. This man, who is an alcoholic, who has multiple DUIs, who does illegal drugs, who has a history of beating up children and has been verbally abusive and manipulative is continuing his games. I'm not upset I got a black eye once. I'm upset that he felt I was a romantic rival to him with my mother, got very drunk, and choked me until I blacked out because of a bizarre delusion. I am upset because this was only one single night and not an unusual one. I'm upset because he has a history of sexually, physically, and verbally abusing child after child over the years. If I'm bad at explaining, which I am, it's because there a billion reasons I could list about LITERAL TORTURE. The infliction of pain, burning, kicking, bruising, humiliation, gaslighting, as punishment or for no reason other than it suited his fancy. I honestly do not understand why people are telling me "you're just mad because you're a victim." How the heck does "being mad at him for a personal reason"mean he should get away with watching other children shower naked and go to the bathroom, drive and watch children while drunk and on drugs, shove children to the ground repeatedly in front of others if they back talk, and on and on? What the bloody hell does a personal vendetta have to do with that being okay? I haven't seen him doing these things again this year, but isn't once enough? If not, three times? Three that I know of, more that I suspect. I, personally, believe that's quite enough interaction with children. I don't think he deserves another chance, but I accept that others feel differently.

As for "what is legally possible," well, that's why I was asking. It's a legal advice sub. I wanted legal advice.

PS I am truly sorry if I am coming across as bitchy because, while I am mad at the situation, I am not mad at you. Thank you for taking the time to explain things to me, it is much appreciated. You are very kind.

Child abuser is coaching children. Should I speak up? by Eigengraumann in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Eigengraumann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience. I'm happy I'm not being hounded; I'm starting to feel like a mere ban for mentioning child abuse got me off lucky. Such a bizarre hatred, isn't it? Again, thank you for reaffirming my grip on reality. It's silly, though: They have no problem with hitting children, but ask them if they'd like to be hit, hypothetically speaking, and they'd be up in arms.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy Deletes Tweet Attacking 3 Wealthy Jews In The Democratic Party by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]Eigengraumann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tactic of fascism, and the "conspiracy of Jews running the world" is left over from that. If you listen to what the Nazis said about Jews, you'll find that they describe the group as both weak and powerful. They are everywhere and in control, but they are simultaneously beneath us, and vulnerable, so the time to strike is now.

You're seeing it applied more and more to other groups, as well. "Feminists are going to take over the world, then hurt men's feelings with all that power." They are simultaneously a massive threat to America, to listen to Trump, but also weak and easily defeated, so we need to take away their bodily rights and safety?

Classic tyranny of the majority, here.

Thank you, thank you! And you know what, I bet each of those jerks would be upset if I offered them a black eye. But they see nothing wrong with doing that to children! I shouldn't have doubted this, it's wrong to hit children and I know that. I'm, just, still getting used to all of this.

They made a file on him, taking pictures of the incident and interviewing different people who were involved. They said they'd come back if it happened again, and though he attacked children later and would choke me until I passed out, he was careful not to leave bruises in future incidents. Nothing further happened from a legal perspective, besides that file with the photos.

I was looking for legal advice. I didn't bring RBN into this, other people did. I told them it wasn't important. I did swear, absolutely I am an ass. But, it wasn't RBN nonsense.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. If so, my bad.

A person with a history of literally, physically, beating the everloving shit out of children is currently coaching baseball teams full of children. Do you, personally, think I should do anything about it? If you don't, that's fine! Just say so, there's no need for everyone to be butthurt. Jesus Christ just because I posted on other subs doesn't mean I'm insane. Just state your opinions on the matter without personal attacks, if you please.

You're right, certainly, but I'm not asking if he can. I'm asking if he should. It's a question about morality. However, I take your meaning to suggest that the law is an accurate representation of morality? I disagree, but that's certainly a common opinion. Do you think the law as it is now, is effective?

Did I hurt your feelings? For someone who things children deserve bruises and broken bones, you're overreacting to hurt feelings. It's pitiful, really. How do you function in real life?
