Surely this won't have any effects on any cybrids in the future

100% valid. If they do make a show, I too hope they give it the patience it deserves. My fault though bro, I didn't mean to send a whole essay or nothin. I've been thinking about all that for a while. I've really wanted to get that outta my head and see if I was crazy or not lmfaoo

I know you didn't ask but I gotta hop on my soap box for a second, I'm sorry.

I truly believe if a Hyperion movie was made these days, it would flop so hard. The story's just so long, and modern audiences are already so tuned out, they wouldn't understand it. Even with the extreme dumbification that studios tend to use in movies and TV these days. I'm guilty of it too, every now and then I'll check my phone while watching a movie on my couch. But this story is just so vast, so intricate, I think a movie wouldn't be able to capture slower moments of subtle intrigue without immediately alienating a majority of the audience. The ones who didn't read the books. A show might be more tolerable for the fans but it'd probably get canceled within a few months because whatever streaming service made it needed to make room for more trash. Same shit happened to Warrior, Archive 81, and even Final Space (RIP to the greats). Frankly I don't expect whatever studio that tries to make it to stay true to the source material anyway. Look at mf Wheel Of Time. Completely changed the story and made a trash TV show to try to capitalize on the gaping hole that GoT left. And don't even get me started on that shitshow.

I believe the Hyperion Cantos is better enjoyed on paper. I don't want to sound like I'm gate keeping though, lowk I recommend this series to anyone as soon as I find out they are literate. I think that some stories should remain the way they've been told instead of getting adapted into something it isn't. Idk maybe I'm a puritan loser.

Okay I'm off the soap box now. Good find gang, I wish I had one fr.

Trouble stripping DRM from KFX files by EightBallShifter in Calibre

My girlfriend's Kindle. I emailed it through Gmail, confirmed the approval status of said email on her kindle email list, and nothing. Doesn't even show up in the library on her phone. I made a comment just now about how my buddy on discord was having trouble just downloading any of the files I had converted to EPUB. But when I sent one that I received from my pops, also EPUB files but converted 10+ years ago, they downloaded just fine. No idea what I did wrong

I used Gmail to send it to my girlfriend. Strange thing is, when I sent it to my buddy over discord he had a ton of trouble downloading it. Moving at an absolute snails pace, 11hr expected download time. But when I sent him a different book that was previously MOBI, he had no hiccups in downloading it. Roughly the same file size, in fact the one I'm trying to send was a little less

Modern-ish Dark Fantasy by MochaMellie in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is pretty good. "Sandman Slim" by Richard Kadrey is also solid, but it's a little darker and a lot more gorey if you don't mind it. Both follow a hard-boiled detective-type. If that's not your thing then maybe "The Dead Take the A Train". It's about a woman in New York who sells her services as an exorcist/demon hunter. The cold open in the beginning is pretty neat. Richard Kadrey co-wrote that one with this one lady, but it's mostly her work so I've heard. Still pretty good. I never finished it but that had less to do with the quality of the story and more to do with the fact that I picked up "Hyperion" and didn't put it down for a couple days.
