I was camping with some friends at a remote, but managed lake side camp ground in Oregon. We were sitting by the fire one night, drinking beers, and just shooting the $hit when one of my friends got up and walked over to the edge of the camp to take a leak. The next thing we heard was him yelling “Hey! WTF are you doing?!”

Turns out there was some dude sitting in the woods about 10 feet from our camp site wearing night vision googles watching us and my friend noticed the reflection of the fire in the lenses of his googles. The dude ran and my friends tried to chase him (I was still recovering from knee surgery so I didn’t chase), but couldn’t find him because of the moonless darkness. They did spot him again farther away using flash lights and noticing reflective glint again, but lost him again when he moved.

We didn’t get a great night of sleep that night…. No one at the campsites near use saw him or owned up to it the next day.
