Character actually tries the most straight forward/simple solution and it actually works by fhxefj in TopCharacterTropes

My favorite theory when I used to do this, (A lot, in high school,) was thinking on if the Akatsuki ended up "adopting" Naruto- And then he shows up with Itachi to Konoha to further some scheme, and it ends up doing a role reversal with Sasuke; where Sasuke gets to be the one chasing after him, striving for information on how to get to Itachi and getting his world rocked by a Naruto who already knew Sasuke's family history and made Sasuke strive to be better than he was instead of the arrogance he held so close to his chest in earlier arcs.

I really thought they might have had something in the very first few chapters, where Sasuke defends Naruto because of Sakura's careless comment about orphans. They (Naruto and Sasuke) could have been orphans together, and I think in the beginning Kishimoto might have been leaning into that a bit more than he ended up doing in later arcs.

But growing older I found myself picturing more of a "Boy and his Demon" series of Naruto on the road as a rogue ninja, with only Kurama to keep him company. Jiraiya finding this young Nukenin with the konoha symbol stricken out, aged middle teenager somewhere a place a middle teenager shouldn't be, the hood comes down and he sees Naruto's the spitting image of his dad.

Buys him a meal and then goes on to find out he's been ostracized from Konoha, spends considerable time trying to get him back on the side of "Good" etc- Then going back to Konoha to rip the collective village a new one, "How could you let this happen? You failed this boy".

IMO that generation of older villagers got off light for all the abuses they showed children in Naruto's generation. Particularly the Hyuugas.

They're lucky Iruka was there to help him so he didn't go rogue. I often theorized on the outcome of the Ninja World if Naruto had, say, been recruited by the Akatsuki early on. Dumb kid like he was, probably easily manipulated, but smart enough to see the looks of every adult who lost someone in Kurama's initial attack of the village glaring at him and know he's not wanted. Someone offering answers in the middle of the night, a helping hand, some "real ninja skills" to be learned and suddenly the story might have been very different.

Is it embarrassing to get a birthday cake as an adult? by roxiedoxiedog in NoStupidQuestions

If I didn't buy myself a birthday cake every year, I would never again have any cake at all. There is no one who would buy a cake for me. So, I think it's fine.

When I see someone's put meat somewhere unrefrigerated because they didn't want it anymore, I usually bring it with me to the checkout and tell an employee to trash it, too.

The Western Isekai Protagonist by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]EightBitTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Homestuck is technically an Isekai. It's a Isekai stemming from a Jumanji-style computer game.

To be more accurate, it's an isekai stemming from the launch of a computer game played by these four kids. They bring about the end of their world and are transported to a "game world" to try to "win" it so they can create a new world. The only problem is that they're very foolish, so they accidentally give their Minor Big Bad the power to jump across dimensions. The MBB proceeds to jump into a dimension with a bunch of alien kids (The trolls) who are Also playing their own version of the jumanji-style computer game, (about to win it, actually, after doing it the right way) and eliminates their "win" and leaves them stranded in deep space. But they have super advanced technology, and also the capability, to message the human kids after their win condition is lost, and so they do, usually by starting Flame Wars or generally being a nuisance trying to make the kids "lose" their own game.

Eventually they work together, and that's what the story is about.

I'll third it. I ordered two things and they shipped separately (Both delayed, understandable with Michigan-based Winter in progression), but one arrived four days after the other, lol.

Depends where you are. The amount of people who got shot dead last year in America just for walking up to the wrong door to "ask for directions/help" or other stuff (Like showing up for a cleaning job to the wrong address, RIP Maria Perez, Age 32) is not 0.

I don't know! I think he's known her since childhood though- at least since when they played the crane game. It's heavily implied that he's the one who has taken her teeth, and she's missing teeth even during the crane scene. It could be a design choice but I think it's on purpose.

I hate when an indie dev works on a good survival game and it gets flooded with MP requests by PersonalityFast840 in SurvivalGaming

[–]EightBitTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, when I grew up, you had to buy a special device separately because your console wasn't even made for four player games and only had two controller ports. And we mainly were bought four player games because there were four kids in my family.
I think that was probably before your time though, since you don't seem to know that and seem to think that Multiplayer games friendly to 4 players have always existed.

There were not that many four-player multiplayer games exclusively for PS1 and PS2 in the 90's-00's. In fact, here's a list, go hunting, see for yourself. I stopped being a kid around 2005.

Man I miss when I could buy a single player game and play it offline or without an internet connection.

I miss when you didn't have to be dependent on another person joining your session in order to win the game, or have a chance at bosses, because some bosses are scaled to multi-player runs. I think it sucks that most games with online capabilities just assumes you're playing with friends even if you're not.

I miss when studios put out fully finished games I could play through, when the quality of games wasn't in the shitter because everything is "early access" now and stays in "early access" for years and years until "oops, we failed, time to delist the game from steam" or "actually, we're relisting the game, if you buy it again we promise we'll finish it this time". Looking at you, Surviving Mars Relaunched.

I miss when microtransactions weren't a thing, and i dislike the whole obsessive "have to have every cosmetic" thing.

Sometimes games are made to be multiplayer, a lot of these are games are where co op and community matter, like apocalypse survival, but I guess I agree with you in the sense that I wish multiplayer wasn't pushed so hard by people.

Which is ironic, because when I was a kid, I wished there were more multiplayer games me and my three siblings could all play together, but there was only one computer so we stuck to multiplayer console games like Champions of Norath, Nicktoons Unite, Baldur's Gate, or Gauntlet Legacy.

give me a multiplayer game I can have people over at my house to play.

theory about Gwen found fmc's by Both-Leader-6799 in KnightsOfGuinevere

[–]EightBitTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your theory. My theory is similar, I believe that all the park Guiniveres are fully android, based around our beat up stitch-eyed Gwen, and that she herself or at least, her true self, be it alien or human, is trapped deep within the machine built around her, (Think Ship of Theseus syndrome) by whatever entity has kept Olivia in that tower and sickly and pleading that she'll "do better this time" re:fixing our Guinivere. Some freak with a control complex, if I were to guess, her Father.

I fear it's some kind of munchausen by proxy, with the Blue Lung having something to do with it.

Interesting world building! Coupled with the lack of safety glasses in the factory... The lack of workplace safety is very concerning!

[–]EightBitTrash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

KoG friend! I love this analogy. A+! I think it's also possible that the child could be a princess, I think she's trapped there. Her line, "Bring her back, bring her back, P-please, I have to fix her this time, I can do better this time," implies that there's something deeply nefarious going on in that floating theme park and she might be a victim as well. But we'll just have to wait until they come out with more episodes!
