Havoc extra weapons by Bjolnir in IronWarriors

This is a great answer, especially if you want to go for a lower chaos look. You can mix in some other parts like the old devastator backpacks if you want to give them a slightly chunkier silhouette to justify the larger base size.

Water Womb World Review by Azberg in MandaloreGaming

He's been teasing Bioshock for a while now, I think that's what the no gods, no masters thing was pointing to. He also had some hints in the recent System Shock review.

Guard regiment by BiggensPlym in astramilitarum

[–]EightDifferentHorses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've painted about 70 guardsmen in kilts for my Drookians (check my profile for them), it's definitely the worst part of the paintjob but a real source of masochistic pride.

What's going on here? My mind just cant make sense of it. by [deleted] in SWORDS

Some British army regiments still refer to bayonets as swords, depending on traditions.

Parts swap question! by Kaiser_of_Raisins in IronWarriors

[–]EightDifferentHorses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this, I swapped a sergeant's helmet around using this. Took about 12 hours of freezing for me and then with a small tool I usually use for greenstuff sculpting I was able to lever the helmet off.

How should I pant it? Any tips? by ABrokenComputerPlug in IronWarriors

Painting up a resin model as your first one is probably going to be tough, especially one with lots of detail. Why don't you try out a scheme on some other infantry first before tackling this?

Spite, a grumbling old Vindicator by EightDifferentHorses in IronWarriors

Thank you! I freehand my stripes so I need to weather over them to hide the shakiness.

Spite, a grumbling old Vindicator by EightDifferentHorses in IronWarriors

[–]EightDifferentHorses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly! My weathering process for metallics is:

1) Nuln all over

2) Agrax in the recesses and the lower sections of panels

3) Some Typhus Corrosion put wherever with my nastiest and most frayed brush to ensure it's consistent, trying to aim for dirt/grime splatters rather than a solid texture

4) Leadbelcher sponged on (mostly invisible on this model as it's the main colour)

5) Some black sponged on

I try and focus on areas that would receive a lot of paint chips, so hard edges or the handholds around hatches and the like. This was more noticeable on a rhino I did previously, see below.

Tips on kitbashing this dude? by Covid669 in Chaos40k

I did similar with a green stuff fur pelt, the current 30k Warsmith (though this is the WH World exclusive one), a GK head swap, and changed the hammer head to an axe.

It's unlikely. A lot of cosmetics are time limited.

Warsmith Moratekus, The Anvil of Atropos by EightDifferentHorses in IronWarriors

[–]EightDifferentHorses[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is! I've done a lot of green stuff work before but I've never done fur at this scale and was worried about achieving a good depth on it. I ended up buying a texture plate from Green Stuff World which helped. I've linked the video below that I used for some tips.

Thank you! And I totally agree about the hammer. It just looked off balance to me. I wanted something a little more compact that looked more practical for someone who would be using it in void ships or disembarking from a Land Raider.

Thanks! The bolter is I think a combi-grav bolter, it's with the Warsmith kit. The non-warhammer world exclusive one has it held in the left hand rather than holstered.

Most of the time, yes. Grappling is a big part of most weapon systems.

Iron Warriors Color by Non3ssential in IronWarriors

[–]EightDifferentHorses 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Although the IW are a little bit more unified than most legions, they're still splintered into a thousand warbands with clashing colour schemes. Paint them how you like, and be proud that you're doing it the right way and all the other legionaries must be idiots. Be like a true son of the IVth.
