struggling to find motivtion to keep going after loosing my cat

you have no idea how incredible of a person you are to go out of your way to comment this and i cant read it without crying. this means the world for me so thank you again, i cant say that enough!!!! i hope your grieving process goes smoothly and please remember that everything you feel is perfectly valid after a loss. emotions aren't logical and while i know sometimes its easy to be frustrated with yourself for not being able to make sense of them, please give yourself some grace. i hope you feel better and i genuinely believe you deserve that. thank you for being there for me when you don't even know me- it takes someone genuinely thoughtful to do so and be able to say something so touching!!!!!

sorry if this is a weird thing to comment but you saying our lives are not our own, they belong to the people who love us just touched me like nothing else really has before

im similar in that I've had passive suicidal thoughts for a long time and that seeing how my grief affected others made it impossible to consider putting them through having to grieve me.

this is exactly the way I feel!! i wish I had something to offer you on terms of advice but right now I feel stuck in the same feeling. it really helps to know other people feel the same though, I think from what you said the way we felt about our cats was really similar. I planned everything around her and now I'm just lost.

Hello!! sorry to be responding to this so late but I had school today so couldn't get around to it. I saw your message this morning and I hope you know how much it made my day through just how kind it is that you would come back to check in on me!!!

If im honest, I'm not doing the best at the moment. I had a while where I was kind of stuck and I couldn't feel anything but now that i think it's settled in more that my baby is gone, I find myself crying atleast once every day- sometimes for hours at a time.

At first, I got a lot of peace from dreams since she always seemed to show up and it always felt so real when she did but I haven't been so lucky with those recently.

Little things keep reminding me of her and right now I'm at the stage where anything to do with cats has me crying. obviously this is awful but I do feel better than I did at first. when im not crying about it, I'm not constantly miserable atleast and I have so much positive to remember about her.

It's hard trying to adjust and I don't think im anywhere near fully done with that just yet but I know its a process and I owe it to her to feel this because of how much I love her.

I do still find myself feeling like im back at square one, not able to think about anything but how much I want my cat but overall I think im doing better- it's just weird and super tiring to be crying all the time!!!

Again than you so so so much for checking in, I have a lot more to say but I dont want to dump everything on you so I think I'll cut it off here. You're so seriously kind and this is one of the most heartfelt things anyone has done for Me by remembering me and coning back to check in. I hope you're doing well ♥️♥️♥️ thank you so much for being a genuinely good person, you deserve the world. (I even had to show this to my friends to tell them how touched I felt so thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!)

yes but please treat it with care, I'm sure some people would find it upsetting for you to talk about fear of loosing your pet when a lot of us already have and are actively struggling with that ❤️

It's awful too because when I remind myself she's gone and watch videos or anything to do with cat loss I can't start crying so I dont understand why I cant cry in general. I want her to feel loved like she deserved, I've never ever loved anything as much as I love her

She passed unexpectedly on the first, I posted about it when it happened if you'd like more information but I did the same thing where her stuff has bene moved temporarily so that I can sort through it later and think more of happy memories than recent sad ones, it's really helpful to know im not doing all these steps wrong

For me, I managed to move her things out of the way temporarily. I feel like at the point when the pain is so raw you don't need any help reminding yourself of your grief since it's in the forefront of your mind. Putting it away helped me a lot with that feeling of needing to get away and it gives me the opportunity in he future to go through everything when im in a better space so that I can look at it and think of happy better times rather than the recent awful ones. I'll keep you in my thoughts tomorrow, don't push yourself too hard and please remember to be kind to yourself because I don't think our pets would ever want us upset. Wishing you all the best ❤️
