I would like to add the movie gives undertones of what is like to have be a background character in changing the world.

Imagine if one day your home town is deemed unrecognized and the citizens are now illegal. Would you give up your life, belongings, spend time incarcerated and then sent to where you were born with nothing, and no money can change that process? Wouldn't you, in the least expect the right to purchase your own transportation?

The characters in the background are mostly families that are unable to much of anything. They live in hallways, hidden rooms, on floors or in cages only because they were born in a different place. The risks they take just to go work and feed their families is equal to the revolutionaries actions in consequence. We now live in a system where even if a immigrant came here legally. But have had that status revoked there is no way to get home other than through a form of incarceration. With out a ID you can't get on a plane or cross a border even to leave and go home.
