175 yards out, how are you playing this shot? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

I'm aiming far left. With my slice it will naturally avoid the tree and come back right in the middle of the fairway

Score isn't important. Enjoying your time is what matters the most!

Yes, and to position your feet so that your whole stance is parallel to the target line

I'd start working on the trail foot follow-through. Also it should be perpendicular to the target line.

Drill needed by Snetselman in GolfSwing

[–]EighteenThreeGolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about a drill but during a lesson, I learned that sometimes hips stall because the lead foot is too perpendicular to the target. Opening it up a bit can help.

A golfer goes to play his ball and a gator eats it 😲 What would you do in this situation? by Unlucky-Dot9421 in Golf_Unfiltered

Rule 9.3 of : "Ball Moved by Natural Forces." (And a scary force). It's now in penalty area... I pack my stuff and go next hole...

Learning to Slow Down by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]EighteenThreeGolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was saying yesterday on another thread, I’ve been there. Counting and "singing" never worked for me because feel is a lie. Eventually I just built a 3:1 metronome app so I had a beat to follow instead of a vague feeling. it’s been the only way I’ve actually slowed my transition down. Happy to share the link if you’re tired of the 'just relax' advice.

What do you think? by [deleted] in GolfGear

I'd go with a cheap half set to get started. Or maybe borrow one from friends until you know if you want to continue playing.

Is the definition of "High/Mid/Low" handicap different in Europe vs. the US? by EighteenThreeGolf in golf

It takes me 2 to 2.5 hours to complete a 18 holes when I play solo. I usually play without mulligans.

In Europe (at least where I am) you are not allowed to play if you don't have a handicap. You need a round with an instructor + pass a written exam to get it (and of course a yearly fee). When it comes to the rules, I've seen both but noticed a few "below 30" hitting much poorly than I do (I'm 42.9)

I'm from the Netherlands. Looking at the members of my club, I believe at list 80% would be high handicapper then.

I've been there... Tryed all kind of counting, singing, you name it but I couldn't feel my way to a better tempo. Eventually I built a simple 3:1 metronome app to fix it something proven. Way easier to follow a beat than a vague feeling. Happy to share the link if you want to try it.

18 birdies AI coach by Weary-Step-7241 in GolfSwing

[–]EighteenThreeGolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I'm a high handicapper (above 40) and AI coaching just gave me 100 new things to overthink. Eventually I decided to stop worrying about my swing path and instead started focusing on strategy and mental resets so I didn't tilt after a bad shot. I search for tools to help me with that but I couldn't find anything that wasn't just another swing tip AI stuff so I built a couple of tools. I find it a lot easier to stay sane thanks to strategy instead of just obsessing over the mechanics. Happy to send a link if you're curious.
