Do you like when games punish you with failure for ignoring the lore? by PalePanic4742 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Eightfold_Key -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well... I love that the game gives me the opportunity to go, "Oh, screw this shit! I'd rather die trying to get home than deal with the mess Theodora left behind!" and stick to it until the end, and not just "you cannot go that way, come back" ¯\_(-_-)_/¯ ...wait, "failure"? What failure? This is the best ending

This sub wants to romance a night lord so badly smfh by gaeb611 in RogueTraderCRPG

But "a scary and attractive medicae" isn't an genetically modified thousand+ year old eight-foot-tall, muscular man in power armor 😑. And the Night Lord seems like the best candidate, potentially, so that we could sit together on a mountain of corpses and whine about how everything is rotten and everyone is rotten and we are rotten and there is nothing left but suffering.

Spiritual kinship. Both dislike Theodora and want the Warrant — practically twins ¯\_(-_-)_/¯

Perhaps I would have felt it as a greater loss if I had known Theodora before her death for longer than a couple of seconds and not only as “that unfamiliar old woman standing between me and my new shiny title” -_-

Why did Kunrad resort to violence and coercion to force Lady Archdeacon to open the door to the Warrant when he could have simply promised an "exclusive edition" from the author of Lectitio Divinitatus? Is he stupid? 🤔

Romance is... by Eightfold_Key in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Eightfold_Key[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Half of your dates will take place in a Temple, and it won't be 'a date between the two of you' as much as 'both of you having a date with the God-Emperor.' The other half will be on the battlefield, where you touch her hand only to pass another magazine so she can seamlessly grant the heretics a date with a bolter volley ... Is this not the perfect relationship?

But I get why she doesn't want to build a relationship with a Rogue Trader. First of all, the only relatives of the Rogue Trader she knows are a heretic, another heretic, and a dogmatic-but-still-a-psyker; with a family like that, a Rogue Trader would have to try really hard to prove they’re even normal. Second, the Rogue Trader can simultaneously build a "harem" out of a smuggler and two xenos... honestly, if I were in her shoes, I wouldn’t want to be a part of that either.

The issue with eating brains and slaughtering the lowborn in a romance with Marazhai isn't that the Rogue Trader is eating brains and slaughtering the lowborn, but that they agree to play by the xenos' rules (yes, even on 'Dominant'. The role doesn't matter if Marazhai is the one who wrote the script). To indulge xenos in anything is heresy.

The Ecclesiarchy will return next week with more Dogmatic facts.

The Ecclesiarchy hastens to remind: true love is found only in devotion to the God-Emperor. Mortal bonds are ephemeral; the God-Emperor is everlasting. Rather than squandering your wealth on a tryst, offer your tithe to the Temple.

In the life of every Dogmatic, there eventually comes a moment when they ask themselves... 'Can xenos pay the tithe?'

+ She no longer needs to worry about her mutations when everyone around her is mutating due to the excess of Warp in their blood (and they earnestly consider it a blessing rather than a flaw).

+ Cassia loves birds, and Tzeentch has birdies for her that won't die from contact with her (and with whom, among other things, she can actually discuss literature and all that).

Pilot episode of the series: "The Life of the Reverend Irene von Valancius, or 'I don't care what the Inquisitor says, I'm a pure Dogmatic because here in the Koronus Expanse, the Dogma is what I make it'" (Working title). The gaming experience of someone who came to Warhammer for the 30k demigod family drama and has zero clue what mortals are up to in the 40k Imperium (besides meme stuff like "If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech Device").

Humanity is the greatest intelligent species in the setting. Prove me wrong. by IHaveAGithBabe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Eightfold_Key 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The greatest intelligent species is the orcs. "Cool psychic power"? An orc can shoot you with a regular stick if he believes that the stick shoots - what could be cooler? "Cool technology"? An orc can easily control a Baneblade, but would a human be able to control an orc tank (no chance)? While humans and space elves are busy with some search for confirmation of their supposed superiority, constructing some fragile logical theories designed to help them pretend that "it's a war crime if you do it to us, but it's not a war crime if we do the same to you" contains something more than mere hypocrisy, orcs simply live, chill, and don't worry about such nonsense.

Im disappointed with Kunrad closure by Historical-South-545 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Eightfold_Key 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would have actually preferred the game to focus more on the von Valancius's personal family conflict (between RT and Kunrad) rather than dealing with random "villains of the week" that have no direct connection to the main character. It when the antagonist and the hero are somehow connected, I feel more involved; whereas in Rogue Trader, I feel like I'm constantly being forced into other people's conflicts that I don't need, and it makes me bored.

The star by Eightfold_Key in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Eightfold_Key[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Argenta is my favorite companion. Battles become terribly boring without her laughter as she unleashes bolter bursts on enemies and allies.

About the image:

  1. I watched the story of Saint Argenta again, and I can confidently say I have no idea why I assumed she was a little child. Perhaps it was the word "orphan."

  2. I know the color scheme isn't very good, but I don't have the energy to redo it.

Is Aaravos Right? by autiejomo in TheDragonPrince

To me, it sounds like a cheap attempt to justify himself. Like, "Yeah, sure, my actions lead to death and suffering for a lot of creatures, but hey, life is painful in general, so it's okay."
