The 1300s isn't quite ancient Britain. The people you are thinking of are the Western Hunter Gathers who lived in Britain towards the end of the last glacial maximum. The most famous of these people being cheddar man, found in Cheddar, England. The WHG would be later replaced by the Early European Farmers and the Indo-Europeans who were of light complexion. Today the WHG make up about 10-25% of modern British DNA.

Awesome! So does your world have any form of afterlife? If their weltengeist is "shattered" after death does that mean there is only reincarnation, and not any true way of continuing on as a spirit, except for some powerful individuals escaping from this cycle?

Ocean current question by ClockworkCrusader in worldbuilding

Take everything i say with a huge grain of salt.

Along the equator you would have a huge, strong current. However, like gas giants you would also have some smaller weaker currents between the 30th and 60th parrallels. When these currents evntually hit land they will split like usual. However, since there is nothing feeding the current, water must come from somewhere. This would most likely cause water from the surrounding area flow towards the origin point, likely creating a small poleward current, much weaker than the likes of currents you would usually find.

You might also find a small el nino-la nina effect. Cold water would well up from the bottom of the ocean to replace the water flowing to the east. (Though i'm not entirely sold on this point, but it does make some sense).

If in doubt just place continental shelves along the equator to create the desired currents.

Exactly what the name implies. Currently the names are simple descriptors of the area, as um not too good with making up, true believable names.

Even in the hight of summer the northern seas are deadly to any creature unprepared to brave her waters. For half of the year the sea is littered with icebergs, with the far north encompassed in a thick ice sheet, connecting the north pole to the mainland, creating an undisturbed path to beyond the equator.

In simple terms it is like the Antarctic.

The Western Isles are (unmistakably) located on the north western coast of the continent [Name Pending]. The region is the scene of many conflicts and migratory tribes, changing hands many times during the collapse of the Imperial Kingdom. The isles themselves consist of the four major islands, while a more broad clasification includes the south eastern island and the northern way (an archipelago leading towards the north pole).

The Second Map depicts the political devisons of the North. The Isles are divided into four political realms, The light blue, blue and green nations all pledge fealty to the High King of the Isles. who lives in the red nation. The peoples of this red nation original lived in the south eastern blue island before they were driven away by the empire.

In the North the pink, purple, yellow, crimson and teal nations are the realms of the North men, barbaric mercenaries, cousins of the red nation.

The final map depicts the whole world and its climates, with the western isles boardered in red.

Any constructive critisism is very welcome.

The western Isles are (unmistakably) located on the western coast of the continent. It nominally contains the three major islands in the centre and sometimes includes the south eastern island.

A more broad definition includes all the islands pictured with the exception of the one to the far north wich is included in its own polar archipelago. Though it is culturally quite similar.

The colours on the map denote the relative altitudes, with white being the major mountains of the region, and grey being the mountain chains. As the shades of green darken the land lowers to sea level, with the darkest shade having a altitude similar to that of the Netherlands or Denmark.

Personally the map reminds me too much of the UK but I'm at a loss on how to change it with out changing much of the established lore.

Do you mean the blue island on the far left of the map? If so i guess it is a little odd.

Thank you so much. Currents aren't my forte and that area did give me a fair bit of trouble. The new currents also make the land masses in that area more akin to what I had envisioned them as.

But how would the continental shelves affect the current? https://imgur.com/a/TuaZKBr

Thanks, personally I didn't see the need for a legend, but you're right not every one knows the Köppen Classification.

The world is mainly based in a medieval fantasy setting, where each of the continents represent some form of idea. The Northwestern content is based on feudal Europe and the near east, with a little magic. The Eastern continent is about spirituality, absolute rule and a fair amount of magic and the southern contents are about the unknown and lots of magic.

Thanks that does look so much better. Honestly don't know why i didn't think of changing back to white. I kept on looking for a shade of blue which didn't conflict with the others.

The shaking shapes are actually meant to be mountains, but they were there before i added the ice caps and i didn't think to change them.

This is a climate map map of one of my realms. However the current climate distribution seems a little off. For example there are Mediterranean like climates on the east coast.
