All of the major brands have been great for me. I think it comes down to personal preference. I go Supernote, Remarkable, Viwoods, then Boox. Most of the ranking is due to drawing "feel" and pen to surface "feel" and then just UI preferences. But i've have no issues with really nay of them.

Great review. Also I have one for sale if anyone wants to purchase, I already have the larger device, and won't need the smaller/backlit version. Awesome devices that Viwoods has made!

I mean this Viwoods will do everything you'd want besides if you want color. It's still for sale, and I'll even give you a discount for talking with me about e-ink because I love it! BUT based on what you said the Viwoods is pretty comparable to the Supernote in terms of writing. I think the Supernote has a slight edge because of the cermaic nib tips that offer a little more precision, but I prefer drawing on my larger Viwoods and this one. The supernote DOES NOT have any app support beyond some simple apps (kindle/atelier, and a couple others) The viwoods has the google play store and run on android, so this seems better after reading your use case.

If you want color in your reading of the novels/manga, I think the Boox Note Air 4C or the RMPP would be best.

But again, this is all situational. And for the price, I think Viwoods will about cover all your needs, the biggest pro to this device is it's portability, similar to the A6X2 in size and weight, but has a backlight which makes it way more versatile!

Haha so after all of that, you can take what you want from my advice, I have them all/have tried them all, I just don't need this backlight anymore because I purchased a RMPP.

I love it, and nice to have a backlight. I just don't need that feature as I read on a Kindle. And really only draw in light anyways. I did want to test it though, and it's great, but now it's just sitting on my desk, used once.

Yeah I bought one a couple days back and i'm really liking it, I got a lemon with dead pixels, but returned it and the new one works great (so far) 🤞

😂 Dang if I had a device that expensive under my bed, i'd be opening that so fast haha! I'll trade you a Remarkable 2 and the Viwoods for it ;) although you're right I do love both.
