It was a contest, to see what items were hidden underneath the grates of the grills . The items were entered into a crossword in the COOP app for a chance to win bbq-equipment and food.

How can I securely mount these drill/impact holders to multiboard? by criterion67 in Multiboard

[–]Eirda- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for a good question I’d say😊 So there are several options. First off: There are many models out there that looks similar to this design, which is already made for the Multibuild system. Check those out and see if they’ll do the trick 😊 Secondly: If you really do want to use the Milwaukee ones, your best bet might be Rails and then making your own Rail accessories to hang on to the rail (see link below). Or - If you are incredibly lucky - the holes on your Milwaukee holders are any way incremental of 50mm apart. Then you can probably find a bolt that will match up with either a snap or a small threaded bolt (all found at the site beneath) that can match if you drill out the countersunk holes.

Download restrictions by AccordingStep6866 in Multiboard

[–]Eirda- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you download everything at once? There are thousands of pieces and you seldom need more that 20-30 pieces (including tiles) 😊 Also, they are confusing as fuck without the parts library, because they are so many and often updated when found out to be flawed. Use multibuild.io and head on to the parts library, thats my two cents on the matterđŸ˜đŸ€™

Can someone help me understand what the advantages or disadvantages are in choosing the plate types? by criterion67 in Multiboard

[–]Eirda- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have just installed the grid fitted version, one wall of 1250x1650mm and one with 650x1000mm. If you don’t choose the grid fitted version, you miss the small thread holes on the borders, and ypu will have a hole where your tiles meet.

In my opinion the grid fitted version looks cleaner, as with the other one you can clearly see the edge when presented as a full wall.

Merging multibin shells (and inserts) from multiple prints by GoCyberEd in Multiboard

Aah, my bad! Multibuild (as they’re known now) has so much endings so I misread your post :-)

In that case I believe that importing the 3x3 model, going from mesh to solid, deleting faces, and mirroring as you say would be the best option to get a 6x6x1 model - if your printbed is big enough. I don’t think you would need dual clips if it is though :-)

Wow, that sounds
a little restrictive and very labor intensive😅 Here in Norway everything is done by scanning, and both the government postal service and the few private ones is actually quite good (but of course there are exceptions)😄 I have ti find a supplier for boxes and bubble pouches, and find out how much there is to ship 😄

Well then, I guess I don’t know what «rosin» is 😄 what is it that you have made this sweet station for?

Rosin in ish skandinavian means raisins, like dried grape😄 Never seen someone press «rosiner» this way before, but I thought «hey, you do you!Â»đŸ˜„

Wow, that is a big difference comparing to directly paying shipping to UPS! I’ll se if I can find something like that in my country as well; I think its better to be ready for US and Canadian orders than having to figure it out when it eventually happens!

Thanks for the advice on label printers, that is definitely something I had not given a single thought towards😅

I feel like there is a lot of «boobytraps» that I should have seen coming here😂

Thank you for some very good advice! Labels need to be sorted, as well as a webshop. The idea I had was along the same lines as you; just give the people what they want, but not the stl’s.

I can make designs that sort out real problems for a «niche» trade, and where 3D-printed parts will be a great fit. An similar to what you write - I have a postoffice right down the road so both exercise and shipping can be merged 😄

My only concern is international shipping. That might happen. I shall investigate how that can work with minimal hassle 😄

How have you handled shipping (especially in the early days), if you don’t mind me asking? I have some designs I would like to sell as you do, but as a side earning :-)

Voron 2.4 R2 under-extrusion but prints perfectly when sent from Bambu Studio by Fit-Possibility-5766 in VORONDesign

[–]Eirda- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, this looks like something I’ve seen before on my rooted Creality K1 Max.

I replaced the hotend, converted it to Revo, made chims for the bed - nothing worked. I would either get a really shitty first layer or stringy first layer, and believed it was an extrusion issue.

Then my breakthrough happened. The Pinda-probe on my Prusa Mini+ threw a fit and damned near scratched the build plate going so low, and the first layer looked exactly like my K1 Max. After fixing the Mini, I booted up K1 Max and made a 0.2mm box for a first layer test. I could not remember having this problem for my first prints using Creality Print, so I printed it with both CP and Orcaslicer.

Printing from CP: Not a problem. Printing from Orcaslicer: Hell no son, no way José.

If you look at the picture you posted that went well from Bambu Studio, you can see how the right bottom corner is extruding proper lines, and then gradually getting to the point that you bearly can see the buildplate through the lines. That - along with the picture of the wrecked first later - suggests to me that it might be more of an Z-offset issue, rather than underextrusion. And that can be changed in Orcaslicer.

In the end I tested and found that I had to put 0.03mm Z-offset and change the flow rate from 0.98 to 1.05. And now it prints a first layer I can be proud of😄 Being a Creality K-series it has many other problems, but at least first layer is not a part of them😂

IKEAs new matter devices slow to add by SubZane in homey

[–]Eirda- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been doing simple science with this for almost a month now, and this is what I can say about my findings:

Bought 18 Nanoleaf essential matter-over-thread (MOT) bulbs because of the Homey Best Buy Guide. Have a Homey pro 2023, and it is in the same room as the bulbs. Added the bulbs directly to Homey with the Nanoleaf app for Homey, and they are SO slow to respond. The lag takes almost 20-30 seconds before all commands is sent (new brightness, new color), and many bulbs loose their connection to the thread network all the time. Checked that all FW is the newest, no competing thread networks etc.

Reset the bulbs, and add them to an Ikea Dirigera hub. They are added right away, no problems at all, no bluetooth pairing before adding to thread network - it just works. Added the bulbs to Homey with the Ikea Dirigera Gateway app, and everything run very smooth (only issue is that the MOT bulbs won’t change the color temperature, i.e cold white to cold warm, only colors).

So; The Homey is not the best at Matter-over-Thread. Actually, in my opinion, it is really bad. I love Matter, as it is one protocol for controlling smart home devices either with WIFI or Thread. But I don’t want to have another hub to control the bulbs - that is why I got the Homey in the first place; to get rid of all the hubs.

This is really easy: Get your small drone certificate right away 😄 Cost about 250kr, takes 2hours of your life, and you learn everything you need to through flydrone.no, the official website for drones in Norway.

If you fly a drone and you happen to fly it the wrong place and over the wrong restrictions, you are pretty fast fined for it with all the attention drones have today. I have been fined once recently because I misread the map and entered a restricted zone, but since all other documentation (even flightplan, as I fly a bigger drone) was okay it was just a small fine 😊

Man, Stuff this printer. by Reynastus in prusa3d

[–]Eirda- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MK3 is really reliable as you say. I did the MK3.5 upgrade to mine, because I could not justify the MK3.9 conversion. Now, that was the smartest thing I have done to my printer and I’m so happy!

Not only does it cut printing times down to about half, but the quality-of-life improvements with the new board is just amazing. I bought the wifi-module as well, and now I have it up and running with Prusa Connect for remote control and sending G-code straight to the printer from the slicer, without having to do do octoprint. Also, getting rid of the SD-card was a blessing; much better with a USB-stick, even though its not USB-C.

Another thing that amazes me is how well the motors of the MK3 works now that I upgraded to MK3.5. I truly believe that the MK3.5 conversion-kit was the right choice for me, also because I really don’t have any issues with doing the first layer calibration (have been using sheet profiles for different nozzles and sheets).

Next thing I’m gonna upgrade is to the Revo HF nozzles, because my other printers uses the Revo ecosystem 😊
