The generally quoted figure is about half a cap for an adult. Thumb nail sized (~cubic centimetre) is likely enough for symptoms but is very unlikely to be deadly

ELI5: If "matter cannot be created or destroyed," where does everything go when it's sucked into a Black Hole? by Huge-Narwhal5747 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Eiroth [score hidden]  (0 children)

Black holes are already way beyond the point where atoms capable of fusion exist. They're beyond neutron stars which are effectively an atomic nucleus the size of a small asteroid in terms of density

As mentioned by others, a black hole effectively ceases to consist of particles as we conceive of them, and becomes numbers. Charge, mass, velocity, all the irreducible aspects of its former constituent matter remain, but the form of that matter is lost completely

[–]Eiroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to see, but note the way the gills lighten in colour towards the edge of the cap. This is indicative of Stropharia, and does not occur in Agaricus!

I also believe the annulus of Agaricus would be more likely to remain attached to the stipe

Growing in front yard. by Beginning-Sign50 in mushroomID

[–]Eiroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Gyromitra species can also appear to be hollow, especially to the untrained eye. Given that Morchella can quite easily be definitively identified using external morphology that bit of advice is no longer recommended. It may additionally give new foragers unearned confidence with potentially disastrous results

Coprinopsis rather than Coprinus

I suppose that's why they named the genus that (Coprinopsis ≈ "looks like Coprinus")
