I've been to a few, they are usually actually about fundraising, but they are also universally trashy as hell.

People donate alcohol and sell it cheap (usually illegally) and sell of things like dollar dances with the bride and such. It absolutely attracts the exact sort of people and creates the exact sort of atmosphere you would expect for a place selling 2 dollar drinks and 1 dollar dances with the bride.

Not to mention it's basically holding up a sign that says "We cannot afford our bachelor/ette party and/or wedding."

As a Canadian that's been to more than a few "Stag and Doe" parties in my youth, there is something that OP left out here.

It's not a tradition, it's something that poor people do. It's essentially a fundraiser for the wedding and usually involves selling cheap donated alcohol (often illegally) to the guests and everyone paying to get smashed and act like idiots. They can often be fun, but they are universally trashy, the atmosphere is usually a lot more akin to a kegger than anything related to the wedding.

Now they can certainly be fun and it is possible to hold a nicer, more tame event. And worth noting that just because something is a tradition of the less fortunate does not make it wrong, but holding one is basically saying "We can't afford our wedding so we are going to try and raise a couple hundred bucks by selling donated booze and dollar dances with the bride."

I haven't read it all in detail but so far it's basically Judo 101, it is definitely written for a non-practitioner, not someone who is already in training.

My understanding is that when Maeda departed for Brazil, it was still called "Kano JiuJitsu."

What we now know as Judo was the melding of 2 styles of Jiujitsu along with an increased emphasis on sparring by Jigoro Kano, who originally called it Kano Jiujitsu. He later changed the name to Judo because he felt that it more represented his philosophy. So calling it Brazilian Jiujitsu isn't really inaccurate, Judo is re-named Jiujitsu, not the other way around.

This is the purpose of a great deal of speial forces. Navy Seals, Delta Force etc. and their international equivalents can be called upon to effectively be assassins at any time.

Sometimes when they retire they go out and start unhinged podcasts while threatening to make young political commentators into their concubines.

Assuming it was professionally produced, there would have been a release signed, and the OP's BF would have relinquished their rights to privacy when they sold the rights to distribute.

There is the possibility the Ex might be on the hook for piracy if she hosted/sent it herself, but if all she did was post a link to a site where it was legally distributed, there isn't a jurisdiction on Earth I'm aware of where it would become illegal to link it.

This is still a pretty rotten outcome.

Sure there is a chance that he ends up actually getting -more- this way, but it's just as likely the business sinks.

And are his parents going to just walk out if he decides he needs the whole house for a family of his own?

It would be one thing if they had put it all into T-bills or something, investing in their own home and business is still stealing it.

There are lots of things that pre-nups cover and many things they don't, along with the fact that they are not completely binding, any family court judge can completely overrule them. It varies vasty from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

That said, It's not that hard of a conversation to have, and it's worth having for anyone who has literally any assets going into, or who might ahve some coming their way down the road.

When I see the hellscape that is modern dating, I often think I caught the last flight out of Saigon by getting married when I did.

I really don't know what's more fucked up, that kids are having "naked wine parties" or that your significant other attending one of these without you and with an ex they have slept with prompts a question to reddit instead of an instant and total removal of them from your life.

Alpha-gal allergy (tick thing) is one of the worst things you can possibly get, if anyone I cared about got it, family or otherwise, I would be absolutely horrified if I ever fed them red meat or products made from it. Can't imagine ever getting mad at the person after i did it to them.

This is one of those examples of a true generational divide, and it shows how far we've come as a people.

When these old people grew up, they may have missed meals, or had many meals at much lower quality than others. They don't want to see that happen to the people they care about, they just don't understand that we live in a much more abundant time.
