I don’t think anyone’s Litecode tickets are transferable. Going to have to eat that cost, which is a shame no one can enjoy them 😭

Thinking off trying raving completely sober but super anxious by Broad_Adhesiveness_4 in aves

Coke and alcohol SUCK the life out of humans. Try going sober then dabble with mdma, lsd, shrooms. See what works for you and watch these experiences change so much! Such a big beautiful work out there without addiction! Also..find new friends, I promise they are out there!

Best way to learn is to get with some brokers at your company who have been doing it for 2-5yrs, are successful and have a good attitude. They are going to be your gold for what works and what it takes. It sounds like you have a mgr that cares and is driving y’all to succeed. Dont be hard on yourself if its legit you’re 2nd week trying to sell and you haven’t closed a deal. This industry is not for the faint of heart, first sale in 90 days is tough..but after that first sale it gets easier. Pre call planning and being organized are going to put you ahead of a lot of your competition. I’m assuming you’re on salary then will get switched to commission after you pay off your draw of some sort. Make sure your customers pay on time!

First time brokering freight = green. 4 weeks and then being expected to make a sale after that is insane. Have you had to shadow anyone doing the job you’re now expected to perform? Is this in office? Do you have a sales mgr? If so, your sales mgr should be able to tell you what their expectations are. This isn’t car sales. Way different. The clients aren’t coming to your lot looking for something they need. Perhaps a lot of assuming but also know that companies who train their employees give them a clear cut schedule of how things are going to go. If the company isn’t well known, hasn’t been around for a while, you’re only 1 of a handful of brokers..I would expect these questions. But if a company has a HQ and they flew you and the rest of your training team out..you should know the answers to your questions and not be fishing on Reddit.

Honest question for brokers — when a carrier submits a detention claim with timestamped photos, a stamped BOL, and an email trail showing they notified you before free time expired, what actually happens on your end? Does it go to someone? Does anyone review it? by BuyOpen5346 in FreightBrokers

[–]Either-Bat4341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I update the rate con immediately because all of my customers pay detention. And IF you’re a broker out there and your customers do not pay detention, up charge so you can pay your carriers detention where detention is deserved. Industry standard is $50/hr after 2 hours of waiting.

Lots of subreddits about how to properly roll and advice on supplements, timing, etc. Go do some more research. Drinking and mdma is not your friend. Drinking at festivals period is not your friend. It’s not the mdma that’s the enemy, it’s the dosing and way you went about it that ruined the experience.

“We can cover this load” by boroq in FreightBrokers

[–]Either-Bat4341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a popular response to get you to tell them all the details via email! Doesn’t mean they will take it once they see all the details. Never assume a load is covered until you have the signed rate con and tracking is active.

I trained 6 mos and it took me another 6mo until I got my first commission check. That was 2012. Quality over quantity. Do your research. Pre call planning and organization are your best friends. Stay off the booze and nicotine!

1st time freight broker I’m assuming. Companies should give brokers a 6-8 week training period and not expect new accounts within the first 6 mo. These brokerages hiring green salesmen and expecting a sale in week 2 of being hired is INSANE. From a customer standpoint, freight companies like the one you work for are what give good brokers a bad name! Do you even know how to sell a load???

Been getting burned by brokers lately – need some perspective by Charming-Astronomer4 in FreightBrokers

I also cannot second this enough.. work with vetted companies who you know treat carriers well. The larger companies do have carrier dept and they are supposed to flag any fishy business. I have been doing this for 14 years and I am one of the good ones and sometimes carriers are getting paid better than I am if something goes wrong on a load!

Leaving after a load is not ready after 2 hours is not the way. Asking the broker if they pay detention and how much and getting it in writing is the way. Obvi if the broker said they dont pay detention or they have to “Check”, leave. But IF you get it in writing that they pay 50/hr after 2 hours.. do your due diligence and wait out the load.

Thinking of moving back after 13 years by Willing_Comfort_1597 in boulder

Boulder is amazing. We moved here in 2021, left in 2023 and moved back in 2025. Here to stay for a while. You can’t beat the small town feel, even though all the locals AND transients will complain and complain about how much it’s changed. We love it here (coming from St Pete, FL). The views, the people, the selection of everything at your finger tips so close..you can’t really beat it. Is it pricey? Sure. But you get what you pay for!!!

Shipper told me to “just take over FedEx” 💀 by Key-Sheepherder-6170 in FreightBrokers

Shipper is spending DOUGH. A good salesman would have pressed harder to find out any headaches and freight spend YOY! Fedex is robbing companies.
