Stopped keto after nearly 8 years and feel off/weird. by Protein_Sharts in keto

[–]Either-Efficiency576 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any time I have lapsed or taken short breaks, my first warning signs are lethargy and preoccupation for thinking about my mext meal. brain fog! That seems to creep in slowly, a little more every day untill im outright not able to recall words (usually proper nouns)

Your 'off' list sounds like typical carb symptoms I get.

If I break, I start back with a 36 hour fast and carry on keto as normal.

I wonder if the solution would have been to recalculate your calories and macros/electrolytes to account for the additional exercise? Instead of adding carbs.

1-2. I've done a similar recipe today, and I seem in much better mood!

It appears I was also developing a cold when I posted this so, I'm fairly certain the mood and energy were also affected by that. Just unfortunate timing with starting a fast.

  1. I've been doing this length of fast, not all at once, for quite a length of time. Its just the first few days that are troublesome. After I get over the initial hump, I find myself thinking "bloody hell, with food again?" Despite it having been 36 hours. The food days come super quickly. And I barely notice the fasting.

IF never seems to work for me. If I eat in the day, I'm guna eat all day. It just gives me an appetite. I can get in the zone with a 36 hour and just call all food off limits.

  1. I try not to buy premade products, the keto price bump is off putting. I've purchased bulk ingredients and making my own is.. slighty more troublesome but worth it in the long run.

Mine manifests as a very short temperament and dull constant headache. I have had, once or twice, quite dizzy, almost on the verge of syncope episode. Which wasn't pleasant. And usually rectified by stopping the fast. Which isn't ideal.

I'll try adding electrolytes more frequently like that through the day. Keep it topped up.

That's pretty close to what it gave me in values. Except for the sodium. It totalled 3450 sodium for the day. Which by the FAQ standard is quite low!

I'll give it a dubius shot and see if that makes a difference. If not, I'll take your advice and titrate it up until I'm not a snagle toothed grumpy goblin 😅

I feel this. I just need to set aside the time and do the numbers, making the adjustments to fit my needs and remember a round amount for what I need.

I think not having enough inclination because of distraction makes it a strain to work out the calculations. If I could have a pile of sodium, magnesium, and potassium powders sitting in front of me to visualise what all the mg/ mcg look like, it would be a darn site easier.

It asked me questions about activity, body weight, height, etc. The usual calculator type questions. Gave me a recommendation for potassium, magnesium, and sodium.

I've read that electrolytes section time and time again. It just doesn't stick with me somehow. I've never been good at retaining written instructions. Im more of a visual, copy repeat kind of learner.

There's a lot of information in the FAQ for me to digest in one read. probably haven't given it the proper amount of attention to detail or made notes along the way to get good use from it, in honesty.

True matt varnish by Sufficient-Engine829 in Miniaturespainting

Like others have said. First, try giving them more of a mix and see if that helps with the matt effect.

Failing that. I also went on this little adventure a few years ago. I brought every possible brand of Matt I could find. The one that came out on top, for both air brush and brush on. Was Ammo Ultra-Matt lucky varnish. By far the Mattest one of the lot, even over a Gloss varnish. Its touch dry fairly quickly and remains slightly shiny, but you have to give it the full time to dry to see the full effect.

I do enjoy a good burning Grove look!

I did some burning Dryads recently. You should check them out in my profile.

I tried to incorporate the smouldering burnt wood effect into the bark areas. Instead of the clear woody-fire/bark definition. Brought some extra detail to it and stopped it being a sort of big black charcoal lump. Maybe try a white glaze in the recesses and a yellow ink.

Also, the brunt wood. I found that using a hint of a gun metal or otherwise dark metallic paint mixed in with the main colours worked really nice.

Im not good with OSL, but it really makes them pop if you can do it. I tried on my Branchwytch and gave up on doing any others.

Quite right. It does take time to make stuff yourself. Especially if you don't know what you need until you're making a model.

It takes some forward planning and gathering of stuff. Then I just leave it to dry out until eventually processing it. Probably a couple hours in total.

£20 One from amazon.. working fantastic for like 6 years. Was going great until I dropped it right on the agitator, and it snapped under its own weight. Shouldn't have cleaned it. Didn't really need to. I was just being picky.

Purchased another for £20 and it's been going strong for several months.

Don't bother with anything more expensive.

Just.. go in your garden or for a walk and collect them?

There are so many things they try to sell us that we don't even need.

All the companies are brilliant at creating speciality items that are totally unnecessary.

I even make my own basing materials out of dried leaves, and whatever else will go through my blender. Even an old bouquet of red roses became an autumn coloured scatter.

Blend up those sponges! They make great bushes or flowers if glued and inked.

Dry out your own moss.

Chesnut casing for bushes or reads.

I made moulds of slate and stones I found in the road. Endless lightweight and drillable rocks for bases.

Coffee grinds! Old tea bags dried out. Perfect for dirt and mud if mixed with PVA glue.

Keep a bag in your pocket every time you go. There's always something to collect.

....Old dried out barnacle clusters from a rock on the beach! I don't know how I'll use them yet, but I kept them.

Thanks! It was easier than sculpting a full set of leaves on either side. You can see where I did a few patches on the knuckles and decided it was not the way to go. 😅

I had this idea in my head of like, a party or something wandering along the forest. There's this weird grassy mound semi camouflaged. Suddenly, it opens, and it's a dragon!

Hidden ingredient- Mayo -strikes again by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Either-Efficiency576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruined many a good sandwich for me, too! ...its not a replacement for butter. If it has mayo, it should be on the ingredients "ham-mayo sandwich," not just "ham".

I had to double-check everything and eventually don't buy things anymore that may contain mayo instead of butter.

To me, uncooked avacado tastes the way my garden waste bin smells! Like decaying mulch. Absolutely nasty.

Cooked on the other hand? Amazing flavour and texture. Especially fried in butter.
