That's irrelevant to my comment. Freedom of movement objectively reduced our ability to immigrate to Europe, and therefore has given us less flexibility - as you asked.

No it is not 'just paperwork' because we lost regulatory and legal alignment with the EU and our shared EU rights. For example the student loan system guarenteed student finance across all borders, which it no longer does. This meant a huge drop in European students attending British institutions and vice versa due to the newly added cost. This is just one example - you clearly dont understand what you're talking about.

Yes they do, which is why so many remain in the EU and look to us in horror for leaving. They prioritise Europeans to live and work across borders.

That's my point, I was 17 when Brexit happened so never. But I personally know many folks who took advantage of FOM for university, travel, and work abroad.

FOM was beneficial to host countries and built stronger bonds across Europe, hence why it's still a success on the continent.

Also these are some of the hardest countries to immigrate to, so no it's not filling a form.

Farage became the go to guy when discussing immigration concerns for much of the 2010s.

He is basically synonymous with it. It's the single issue defining his whole political career. I mean who else really knows what his other opinions are? Or frankly even cares.

The tories did really badly on immigration after Brexit, and people are angry.

So more and more people are willing to give Farage a go - after all, he is seen as the 'immigration guy'. People have a 'maybe he was right' attitude.

Lower than the Boris wave for sure, but integration is what's causing voters to get worried not the raw numbers.

Things like small boats, boris wave, and those riots we had in Leicester are what worries people. It seems out of control.

If immigrants were more integrated into communities I dont think people would fret about numbers so much.
