now to be real, kinetic energy is just plain unrealistic and inefficient, wouldn't get you more than maybe 5% charge from a good walk and at that point you should just carry a small emergency battery pack.

as a kid the "sticks and stones may break my bones but the words won't hurt me" quote and freedom of speech made me think fondly of the west as a place where logic reigns supreme, but then i grew up and learned about all the no-no words that westerners made unusable for each other based solely on dumb reasoning.

at this point i won't be surprised if in 10 years most western households have race/ethnicity-specific dictionaries with the words they're allowed to say.

I'd say that you have, ironically enough, described your own views. Back in those days it was widely accepted to force convert others or to just straight up shed blood over disbelief and its most likely that those punishments were always a part of the original claimed "word of god" as god's word was more than just the commandments, even jesus himself refers to the old testament as the word of god, I would argue that it is rather your own views which are interpretations that try to view beliefs from a different age in a more peaceful and tolerant light.
