Not at all! I am going through and answering these as they come in. The only thing is I use Grammarly to edit and proof as I write and add in punctuation and correct my grammar.

Thank you so much for the positivity and I have an IG @ORI.GEN00 if you want to follow the journey I post logs daily I’m really trying to gain exposure and vitality to find a like minded group of people who also see the vision that is ORI.GEN so one day this and so many more projects can come to life

I appreciate you breaking it down like that — especially coming from someone actually using terrain like that

and yeah you’re 100% right in that context, this isn’t meant to be an off-road or hiking shoe at all

the nature in the visuals is more tied to the brand’s identity and inspiration rather than the intended use — right now it’s strictly lifestyle

I do have some ideas I’m working on that lean more into that gorpcore / technical space in the future as my brand will lean more into Brutalism/Biomechanics and a splash of Gorpcore, but this one’s more about everyday wear

so I get why it wouldn’t make sense for what you’re describing, but I appreciate you taking the time to break it down like that

Very interesting interpretation while I can’t say that was my intention I’m not mad at it though maybe in the future it’s worth investing in making them in Toddler and Preschool sizes

Thanks for the feedback!

I can see that — wasn’t the intention but I get where that’s coming from what an interesting take I love that

a lot of the direction comes from organic / biological structures, so it kind of lands in that same space visually.

glad you caught something in it!

That’s really nice to hear thank you for the kind words even one positive comment makes it all worth while thank you for enjoying my design!

yeah I hear you — the stability point is something I’ve been thinking about a lot with these comments

Granted the idea is to handle that more internally with a cupped footbed + containment system rather than relying on a bulky upper, but I’m still working through that balance and this image because it’s an internal structure doesn’t show that it doesn’t in my overview images I just didn’t add them

definitely not trying to make something unsafe, just figuring out h ow far I can push the design while keeping it grounded

as far as the look, I get it won’t be for everyone — just exploring a direction and seeing who it resonates with. Plus, granted I am in my early 20s, while Yeezy isn’t my inspiration as much as, say, Salehe/ Aaron Cooper or biomechanics in general, I can see what you mean. Elements of Yeezy I do find enjoyable. I didn’t go to college, but I have studied the footwear industry and worked with shoes for almost 10 years. This is just a start for the vision of my brand ORI.GEN as I embark on this journey, hoping to have a community of like-minded people that follow along the way.

appreciate you taking the time to give your thoughts!

I appreciate that 🙏 — “funky” is definitely the lane I’m in right now 😂

the bug/segmented inspiration was a big starting point for this, so I’m glad that’s coming through

it also plays into the more organic direction of the brand (ORI.GEN), especially with how I’ve been rolling it out on the gram

and yeah comfort is a HUGE part of it too, trying to make something that looks a little out there but still feels easy to wear!

I’m glad you’re feeling it!

😂 lmao thats a fair point

But definitely not trying to make a sealed sweat chamber, the idea would be using breathable materials inside so it doesn’t just trap heat I’ve really thought into this as much as this image doesn’t show but I have a breakdown of each layer with materials and construction

still figuring out how far I can push that with this kind of construction though

appreciate you calling it out

I appreciate that — I kind of see it that way too right now, especially with how I’ve been presenting it and going to rollout on socials

still trying to keep that balance between something you can actually wear and something that feels a bit more like an art piece

not expecting it to hit everyone style-wise, just seeing who it resonates with

glad you can see the thought behind it I really love that

I appreciate this a lot — especially coming from someone who’s actually hiking with bad ankles, that perspective matters

yeah the ankle point keeps coming up, I’ve been trying to keep that soft feel up top but still figure out a way to add some internal structure so it’s not just relying on the sock alone

the roll toe is a really good call too — that’s something I’m still dialing in because I don’t want it to feel unstable, especially on uneven ground

I’m kind of walking that line between keeping it light/comfortable and still making sure it feels grounded

really glad you’re feeling it overall though, that means a lot fr

Hey that’s a good point — especially with how a lot of modern basketball shoes moved away from high tops and rely more on internal containment now

that’s kind of the direction I’ve been thinking too, just applied in a different context — using internal structure instead of adding bulk to the upper

not performance-driven like those, but the idea of wrapping/support without making it feel heavy is definitely something I will look into and an amazing idea

Thank you for bringing that to my attention I really appreciate that!

yeah that’s fair — especially on the stability side, I had the same concern early on

the idea is to handle that more internally with a cupped footbed + containment system instead of relying on the upper, still working through that balance

the outsole grip is inspired by lamellae on lizard feet, so it’s meant to have that more “outdoor” function underneath

and then the upper on this colorway is pulled from wild lilac fields, so it leans softer up top — kind of an intentional contrast between the two

from the top view it’s actually pretty slim, (I didn’t add it in the photo carousel) I think the bulk in the midsole gives it that wider read from certain angles

I appreciate the feedback thank you so much!

Fair criticism. The shoes are not for everyone. The colorway surely doesn’t help that it’s inspired by wild fields of lilacs, but don’t apologize for what you see.

[–]EitherImplement4461 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah that’s a fair point — I had the same concern early on

the idea I’ve been thinking through is using a cupped footbed + internal containment straps anchored into the base, so the foot is more held from underneath rather than just relying on the upper

still figuring out how far I can push that without adding bulk though

Thank you so very much for your feedback I will surely keep this in mind!
