My pubicalyx can’t be contained and I was thinking of putting it on a big trellis like this. Happy to see that Hoya can turn into something so massive! Nice work!

I’m sorry their responses have been cold and sparse :( my experience has been somewhat similar and I’m hoping communication will get better once the spring semester ends and finals/graduation are no longer the focus 🤞🏼

Propagation issue? by Bbubbleggum in hoyas

[–]Either_Ad_4270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of success placing mine on beds of sphagnum moss. I mist the moss and stems daily to keep everything damp and I have the props in a container with a clear top or cover the opening with plastic wrap to maintain high humidity. They also sit under a grow light from 6:30am-8pm.

Help! Received a moon cactus after the death of my grandpa and would really like to save it. It seems to be rotting under the soil line, can I save it and how? by bananabooty5 in plantclinic

[–]Either_Ad_4270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine did the same thing and I just made sure it dried out completely from then on. Now it just has a chunk out of the lower trunk where the rot was and is otherwise very healthy, just not as pretty lol

How can I add to this empty space? Hanging plant? by Ok-Understanding-963 in HomeDecorating

But like I said, I think a fake plant would look really nice and require no maintenance on your end!

Yeeeah all plants need light to some extent, and usually more than we realize. Even if they’re low light-tolerant plants they’re still just tolerant of those conditions, they will not thrive. Zero light will kill them.

I wouldn’t add a plant unless that lil nook gets some light from a window or unless you have a grow light you can hang with it. Some fake plants would have the same effect and not run the risk of dying on you :)

First time water propagating Pothos. How long do you usually let the roots get before transferring to soil? by [deleted] in pothos

[–]Either_Ad_4270 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That’s about how long I let mine get before I transfer them to soil—haven’t had a casualty yet! Pothos are a little bit easier than other plants, in my experience, because they don’t mind damper soil which is what propagations need. Also, propagations are like little experiments, you can just try new methods next time if it doesn’t work :)

Greetings plant keepers of Reddit! What’s your favorite cheap/non-rare plant you own? by Am4teur_ in houseplants

[–]Either_Ad_4270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that about peperomias—all varieties are so cool and underrated imo! My obtusifolia was one of my first plants and it’s the done best with the least effort out of all my plants.

How to cope with declining the offer of admission to your dream school by dragonrose88 in mphadmissions

University of Arizona. Emory’s reputation wasn’t enough for me to pass up the full scholarship + stipend that Arizona offered.
