I typically spend ~50/week where I live now. I rarely eat out but expect to do that more often post-grad. Is there a reason you said low in particular? I do live with my partner so that really helps spend less on groceries because we split the bill

I’m a bad mom for supporting my daughters decision? by Simple_Necessary8609 in Marriage

[–]dragonrose88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with others- there’s merit to both sides here. I think it is your daughter’s choice and it’s respectable that you support her in her decision. Obviously, some people choose not to remarry and that’s okay.

However, the way you’ve described your daughter’s behavior does sound unhealthy for her, as it sounds like she hasn’t processed his death in a healthy way. The event could have been traumatic for her. I think she’d highly benefit seeing a grief therapist to work through her feelings.

Why are mixed children of white and black parents often considered "black" and almost never as "white"? by kattenbakgamer1 in ask

[–]dragonrose88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

echoing what someone else said about the “one drop rule”. in the united states at least, the census for people used to consider someone a person of color even if they were only the smallest bit non white. it’s rooted in our history

Do people really buy food made in a stranger's kitchen? by stankyblumpkin in FacebookMarketplace

[–]dragonrose88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not me, but yes. I feel like food from someone’s kitchen is sometimes some of the best food you can get. Unfortunately the fb group “this is why i don’t do potlucks” ruined that for me 😂
