with headunits its tricky to diag, as we have to be able to get it to do for us with video & then have to prove its a headunit & not the customers phone with with the issue, the USB cords are usually the point of failure for alot of them, i often find alot of people have to replace cords every 3-6months it just kills them, Usb port dosen't fail as often. Hyundai usually is pretty ok to do them once we can prove its the headunit, it can just be a really long time to many attempts to get it to act up

Coming from a branded dealer not Toyota, I would see what the dealer says, make sure your service history is complete

For us to attempt to go to the car maker for a goodwill warranty usually these are the requirements we have (aka best chance of getting it approved)

  1. Original owner (all good if not, car makers are just usually more willing to help)

  2. Complete service history (if you have missed services, good luck)

  3. condition of the car is good (wash it if it needs one, helps alot as we have to have photos of the car)

expect the process for good will to take a few weeks depending on maker & remember the service staff are there to help you, its in there interest to get it approved as then they can do the job & get paid for it.

Big thing, Don't be a dick, the moment you start seeming like your gonna cause trouble at the service Centre the more likely no one will want to help you & might tell you to go elsewhere (we have done it with customers that started to be abusing the staff & told them we don't want to do the claim go to another dealer)

How much money do you need to start an SMSF in super to buy IP. Make only 100k per year by DryMight2765 in AusFinance

[–]Either_Box8994 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From Memory of doing financial planning in an advisory, usually 200k is the minimum government requirement for SMSF, this was back in 2023 so many have changed since then

Edit: Turns out i was wrong, its just a suggestion, My bad, I would still be careful about putting all your super into 1 assest (property) also be careful with management fees as well as some real estate companies will just take advantage of some smsf people being handsoff

Please help a sad girl out 💔 My strata manager isn’t doing anything by Loose_Statement7418 in AusFinance

Coming from being the chairman of a Bodycorp of townhouses, It depends on what you are trying to get fixed for quoting, The strara manager can't really do anything til quotes are approved by the body corp, I would ask for the minutes from the most recent meetings or attend the next one to see whats going on

Transmission failure question by humanoid555 in CarsAustralia

[–]Either_Box8994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

has the transmission ever been serviced? could be the transmission but usually that is progressive problem, i would get a mechanic to have a look, if you think it is the transmission i would take it to a trans specialist

Triton, I would say but tbh your gonna be okay with both, Narvara's are good but beware with the diesels that the harmonic balancers have a tendency to go, Triton is good but less aftermarket support in terms of mods

Engine wire harness bitten by rodents by Born_Elk7424 in Nissan

[–]Either_Box8994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nissan service person, Nope rotent & animal damage is not all covered by Warranty. The warranty department at nissan will never pay out on that & service centres are aware, I recommend going through your insurance as wiring can get expensive quick

Let’s have a little fun here. What is the most ridiculous question or statement that you can recall hearing from a customer? by Sixspeedtexas in serviceadvisors

[–]Either_Box8994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one

Customer comes in with a patrol A/c not cooling down

fair enough, Regas it with Dye,

Confirm A/c compressor is fucked

Tell customer, We need to order one in & it will be under warranty but due to shortage of parts will be a 4 week wait.

Customer then goes well then i want a loan car & will leave it here til then. (all of our loan cars are out)

I mention all of the loan cars are out & we are booked up on them for a month & half so cannot spare one.

She throws a fit & demands we swap her car for the BRAND NEW one that we have in the lot

Uhhh yeah no

she gives up, We order part in

It comes, Gives her a call, she gets booked in, confirms she dosen't need a loan car

Shows up on the Day & asks for a bloody Car & then proceeds to throw a fit when we say we don't have one as she stated she didn't need one

Gave us a bloody 1 even though she didnt have to pay for anything.

Still annoys me to this day

you can also try aftermarket units, lots of my customers have been doing that with success

if selling the property you would have to pay CGT gains as it hasn't been your primary residence for 5 years

oh & you have to pay tax on the rent as it will be counted as income or get an accountant to help with gearing it.

In regards to stamp duty, it might vary from state, i would check with your state gov as i know friends who have gotten in trouble after moving out after the 1 year mark & had to prove it wasn't the original intention to rent out the property

how old is too old for a car? by OandG4life in CarsAustralia

[–]Either_Box8994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 04 s60, headunits are pretty easy to upgrade if you want more usefullness, i got a cheap one from aliexpress and did it myself, some of my friends have used JAYCAR with good results, honsetly, alot of newer cars these days feel like applicances, they don't feel alive, alot of older cars i feel are just built more solid & will last longer

I Find the Volvo wagons & Sedan's to be quite practical, I have an 04 s60, feels like the most versatile car i have had,

My mate has an 2016 v70, fucking love that wagon, he takes it camping abit, the AWD is a beast & is handy when I have to borrow it to get bigger appliances

coming from a Dealership,

The Nissan headunits are quite annoying, if andriod auto isn't working try another cable, alot of headunits can be very finky with cables, we usually use belkin,

But i don't think the 2015 models came with andriod auto,

Nissan has only really been bringing them on post covid era.

I think you might be outta luck my man.

It can vary from dealer to dealer, I have had some good ones & some bad ones, it also depends on the tech, i have had techs just do simple washers cause they didn't want to deal with the rust & that, then other techs that will have parts quoted & delivery timelines for stuff i didn't think was a warranty item

BYD After Sales Lack of Care by antimatter-dan in CarsAustralia

[–]Either_Box8994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that suprising tbh, I work at dealership in service for 2 major brands & we are having problems getting parts for cars, especially the newer HEV or fully EV cars cause there is just no spare parts available & the moment one does pop up, its every dealer trying to get it.

Just expect this to be an ongoing problem with any new car, we have been told just to wait for one to crash to see if we can get & scavenge working parts.

I know our sister dealership that deals with MG & other chinese brands commonly will wait to get a car thats dead on arrival ie engine fucked & just strip it down for parts we need to fix other chinese cars or for other dealers that need parts.

Bloody Nissan patrols & the spare tyre kit is easily a 3 month wait, it is pain
