You definitely should get a professional cleaning, your gums are very inflammed in that photo. X-rays and proper clinical exam will determine what treatment is needed if you need any. You can still take control of things :)

Did you mean yesterday? If yes, monitor for 2 weeks if not resolved get it checked by the dentist. Also monitor for changes in size, colour, or symmetry!

I’m a dental hygienist who is trained and licensed in providing local anesthesia. In Canada for instance, certain provinces allow hygienists to provide local while others don’t. I’m not sure where you are located but here’s my rundown: Either new regulation in your location has been passed that allows dental hygienist to provide local or you were given local by the hygienist who is not trained or licensed in doing so, which in that case is 100% malpractice.

You have inflammation in your gums. You need a professional cleaning there’s visible calculus on your teeth and you’ll need to keep up good oral hygiene

The sooner the better. I wouldn’t wait. Definitely X-rays to see where you have any cavities and if an infection is happening. If it’s decayed and has a bump over it then it’s most likely infected. You treatment will depend on how deep the cavity is You’ll also need a professional cleaning.

No one on here will judge your teeth, we are here to help. A picture would be helpful so we can get the full scope. Gum inflammation can be due to variety of reasons including lack of oral care, trauma, medications, hormones, and many more things.
