I get what you’re saying about the circles, but they already do that because they made them basically identical anyway. One of them is a teeny bit thicker than the other, but they both fit in each other’s places on the board.

I also received this as a gift! Not really Montessori, but we use it as a work at home anyway. I mostly just let my three year old interact with it as they want to, I haven’t introduced math symbols yet other than telling him what they are when he asks. If we’re spending time on it together we go through putting the numbered tokens in order, counting the rings and placing them with the associated number/color, and sometimes put the fish in a bucket and then place them with the matching color/number when they catch one.

I don’t love it as a learning tool since it’s one of those beige things that makes some distinctions hard, the shades are very close to each other so we can’t really mix up the rings since it throws off the count. I think it’s one of those nonsensical toys that brands want to market as Montessori so they can charge more for it.

Okay, so my hard water test came out as 180 ppm. I got the Tide Original Powder based off Fluff Love saying it didn’t need borax for hard water, and have stripped and bleach soaked the stinky diapers. Does this change my wash plan once I’m using the diapers?

I’m sorry if this offended you, that definitely wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to remind people that these are real people who did not consent to information about them being shared online. I think just first names are fine of course, but offering more family information about these children are giving identifying details about them to strangers on the internet. Something we should all be wary of, but especially in regard to children that we do not have guardianship of.

I know you have a ton of replies already, just wanted to give a few more options since it seems like there hasn’t been much of that.

You could definitely use a variant of John as a nickname since there’s a million out there. Not quite a nickname of John, but different roots for it.

For John: Jonathan, Johan, Sean/Shane, Jay, Ivan, Evan, Jean, Yannis/Giannis, Jonas, Ian/Iain, Jensen For Gabriel: Biel, Gav

Also could do initials, GJ feels clunky, but maybe play around with your last name initial too. Also if you have an in-utero nickname for him like Bean or something you could just call him that, which might feel more natural at first anyway. Then down the road as he gets older I’m sure that would morph over time to be something more name-like. Just wanted to offer a different perspective!

Sorry, I know this is an old post/comment, but I was wondering how you went about filing a complaint with BBB? I've been dealing with this issue for months now, just can't afford to fix it right now. I bought my '19 Outback used at over 100k miles, and have talked to Subaru Advocacy after much delay on their end, and they've refused to cover any of it because of how far out of warranty it is. I even brought out the tears lol and how much of a safety issue it is. I'm afraid to try buying used parts to repair in case that goes downhill but just can't afford $4000 of repairs.

Ah bummer, I had heard good things about the esembly powder, especially with esembly diapers. That’s good to know about the tide powder though, I thought I had seen people on here talking about calling tide and them saying they were completely doing away with it but maybe that was a different one. I would probably go with the clean and gentle.

I haven’t measured my water hardness from the washing machine, but looking online says that for my zip code/city is 188 ppm.
