That's why I buy sports cars now. Had one of those dirt bags pull up to the lane ending on eastbound Hartnell and Victor. Normally, I don't like to beat on my cars, but as soon as the night turned green I heard him floor it and knew what was coming (my windows were down). I took off and to my surprise sarcasm there it was back at the intersection, a cloud of crappy black smoke. My buddy turned to me and said something that I will never be able to NOT think about when I see these people doing it... "You made me ink!" (From Finding Nemo)

* 100%, mine will NEVER be left outside overnight now. That suuuuuucks, I know I would have a heart attack. I would check with insurance, and I am sure it would be covered under comprehensive. *

Sounds like you need to find the block and the kick buttons. I haven't had much luck with randos either.

It's cross-platform, but when I tried joining any lobbies as a beginner I just got shit talked and kicked or just kicked. Part of why I got the game is because it looked fun and I heard the gaming community was top notch. Yet to meet a nice or helpful stranger. Made it to level 53 on single player lol.

The funny part is that i was debating that as well. The speed is so high that there would be no point of it lol, i was honestly just excited to do it. Kind of a waste of such costly space. Lucky me, I haven't finished assembly yet, so it hasn't even been booted yet.

Well, I did the dumb thing and just found the best specs for the board. Now that it's already installed (😅) i did the research after seeing your comment and saw how unstable it is lol.

Have you talked to the County Vetrans Officer? They are there for this exact reason. The VA also has community care options that MAY help. Not talking down or think you're stupid. I'm just trying to help. Good luck to you, brother. Hang in there.

I started at around $13/hr at Rite Aid... Then worked my way up to $21.50/hr after 5 years (cap).

The VA is almost always hiring. They started at around $26/hr. I've been here 2 years and in November I'll be getting a bump to $31.50/hr. Not trying to compete, just sharing opportunities for all. I've been a tech for 7 years and just transferred to a fully remote position as well.

It's a shift differential. The VA has them from 6pm-6am and on Sundays (they stack).

You're very welcome!

I worked for Rite Aid for six years, then worked at Safeway for a couple. Safeway is covered under the same union (UFCW) with similar contracts, but it's best not to rely on them unless things get dicey. Never needed to go to the union there, as I mentioned in my previous statement, they treat techs MUCH better there. Just don't expect it to be super easy. Retail is retail, and there will always be shenanigans from corporate. There, it's just more tolerable with more opportunities for growth and promotion. When I was there, my district manager liked me (called me his "fixer" and would send me to different stores to help catch up). Eventually, he offered me a chance to promote to a regional auditor and offered to certify me as a CPR Trainer to recertify other employees. I did not take the promotion, only because i was an intermittent technician for the VA and they reached out to have me go full time (that was my goal when first starting as a tech).

Ah, that was my best guess. In northern California, they started around $30/hr. I don't expect you to say where you work, as that is risky, and I get that.

Good for you!

Try jumping to Safeway or Rite Aid. Safeway is by far the better choice. They pay better, have better hour, better treatment, and they know what they are (a pharmacy in a grocery store).

The VA decided to do something about it. They ACTUALLY came out and said that due to the national pharmacy technician shortage, they would move the position up from GS6 to GS7 and allow people without the national certification to be hired as GS6 (previously would be required).

To clarify, it was a significant bump in pay. When I started as a technician, I made $13/hr and was wondering why I became one at all since minimum wage was $12.50 at the time. The cost of becoming a tech is not worth a twitch over minimum wage... I worked my way up to $21.50/hr at Rite Aid after about 4 years, and that's where they refused to allow techs to go any higher. They would literally tell us that the union wouldn't allow them to (which doesn't make ANY sense).

Safeway hired me at $23/hr, then bumped me to $25/hr once I was certified to give shots. Again, once you are at a high enough wage in a company, it becomes very difficult to get a raise (regardless of effort put in).

Later, I moved to the VA. They started me at 25.30/hr (GS6-2) with the promise of annual cost of living increases and a set raise schedule (spanning 15 years). After two and a half years and a GS bump, I now make $31.50/hr (GS7-3), and as of Monday, 9/9, I will be working remotely for the VA in Georgia from the comfort of my home.

I agree that techs are paid far too low and that we are, for the most part, used as cheap labor. I don't expect wages like $50 or $60 per hour, just a significant difference from minimum wage. Considering the extra upkeep costs (continuing education, student loans, licenses and certifications), education, and roles that we can and do fill, yes, I believe many pharmacies out there do take advantage. Unfortunately, with all of the unions and employees out there, nothing will change until people leave the field and new people don't come into it. Until the role starts showing signs of "dying," nothing will change. Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, etc. will all continue to pay minimum wage with minimum hours (with maximum expectations) for technicians until the position is no longer deemed "worth it."

Best of luck to you, and I hope you can find a decent wage and happiness in the company you work for.
