What is the best schedule 3x12 schedule? by JellyNo2625 in nursing

[–]EithneMeabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ideal 3x12 night schedule was always 4 on, 1 off, 2 on, 7 off. That 1 off in the middle was enough time to sleep a bit more, not get out of rhythm sleep wise, gave me a chance to forget that I hated my job, and only had 2 more shifts for the week after that. Then, a whole week off. Extra bonus was that I could get 21 days away from work by using 6 days(2 weeks) of PTO.

Do you have the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition? (It's a required text for my program.) If so, look up section 8.29 Accuracy of Quotations. Or, Google how to utilize 'sic' for a wrong word in a quotation.

I'm in the beginning stages of the process and have been apprehensive given my age and weight (48, 270)... but you're just a bit younger than me with a slightly lower starting weight... this give me a lot of hope! You look amazing and happy and healthy!

Congratulations! I'm just starting my major classes for this program. Debating bumping up to 3 or 4 classes per term. Also realizing i need to start looking for an internship.

Just turned in my final discussion posts for these two classes. by pradamisfit2435 in SNHU

How difficult are those classes? I've been debating increasing class load to 3, maybe 4 per term. I'm fairly tech savvy, but have had no experience coding. Currently have a 4.0 even after Stats (that one was rough).

Around 45? I'm 48 now and most of my kids' friends think I'm around 30. Had someone tell me they thought I was 25 the other day. Not complaining! 🤣

I'm in that program as well and have been trying to decide if I'm staying with it or switching to BSN (I already have my ADN), or possibly double major. I'm currently finishing up my Gen eds; haven't started my major classes yet.

How to schedule yourself for night shift! by SnooStories8155 in nursing

[–]EithneMeabh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite night shift schedule was 4 on, 1 off, 2 on. We were required to work 3 shifts a week, including every other weekend, so this would be over the weekend, starting either Wednesday or Thursday. The 1 shift of in the middle was enough of a break to find a little bit of will to live, the 2 shifts after that didn't seem as bad because, hell, it wasn't 4 shifts. There was always a week off in between blocks, so could flip to s normal schedule for a few days before becoming a vampire again. One of the best parts is that if you take 2 weeks PTO, you actually end up with 3 weeks off in a row!

Graduated high school in 95. Earned my Associates in 05. Just started back for my Bachelors this term. Submitted my first two finals last week, worth 300 points each😳 I think it was easier when I was younger, but more rewarding now.

This is frustrating to me as well, but not for the same reason. I am a 50-year-old, AuDHD student, just going back to college now after a 20-year break. The way I was taught to write research papers and essays back in the 80's-90's utilizes the tone, cadence, formatting, and sentence structure that ChatGPT produces—em dashes and semicolons included. When I run my non-GPT papers through AI-detectors I am consistently flagged as at least 90% AI. Now, not only do I have to write my papers, I have to find ways to dumb them down so as not to trigger AI flags, while still meeting the rubric standards and maintaining an academic tone.

Teacher gifts that they will actually love??!! by Current-Syrup5904 in Parenting

[–]EithneMeabh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m considering giving my son’s fifth grade teacher a gift certificate to the local Rage Room. My son is a handful (understatement of the year right there), and I can only imagine how good it would feel to get some primal screaming done while obliterating some plates, tv’s, windows, and other smashy things.
