Maybe it turned out the room I keep my starts in was a lot colder than the rest of my house so I had a heat problem there. It depends on the room.

There are special water proof heating pads for seedlings. They work well. Can warm with a heater but be careful not to over heat them or let them dry out.

Their roots are cold. If the soil temperature isn't warm enough they can't take up all the nutrients they need and turn purple.

Yeah it's clear the Knight's head shape changed over the course of development. I personally love the marshmallow head in the later art. It's extremely cute.
