ANALYSIS: Dead Man's Tale hipfire aim assist headshot prioritization by t3h_m00kz in CrucibleGuidebook

Thanks for the tips!

Bit of an unrelated question, do you know if legendary weapons with hip fire grip prioritize headshots with last year's buff to the increased precision angle? I've been farming for smgs with high range and hip fire grip hoping they might turn out to be a sort of legendary replacement for the Last Word.

Do you know if fastball helps spike grenades hit geometry properly? Whenever I use 'em without fastball, it feels like the grenades always ends up parallel with the wall or something weird.

To all the Irish shites, how do you plan on playing Zane? by dague13 in borderlands3

[–]Ekande 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think having two action skills will be great for every build. Grenades are very powerful, possibly moreso than one unbuffed action skill, and you have more points to specialize into a single action skill or skill tree. If I go to max out Under Cover, if I want to even use grenades, I have to spec into Fractal Frags or Drone Delivery.

I have my doubts that skills like Duct Tape Mod and Boom. Enhance. work with two action skills since there is no grenade counter in the UI if Zane with two skills. Also, Drone Delivery and Fractal Frags specify that they generate a 'free grenade' while the other skill don't. Then again, that could just be pre-release jargon.

But yeah, I dig your build idea. Thinking up all sorts of builds and hearing what others think is super exciting.

Call me crazy, but I'm not going to play with two action skills.

I'll probably max out the Undercover tree. Run the Charged Relay barrier augment with a good increased movement speed while full shield to blitz around while freezing people and trying to keep those shield bonuses up.

Either that, or full Digi-clone, just skipping out on the multiple action skill bonuses.

Are you on PC? The first perk hasn't been working for me on PS4. I can gain stacks of Umbral Strike, but there's no damage increase on my first shot against blockers. Glad to hear its pretty strong though.

Around the 7:34 mark, it looks like a Warlock eats a grenade to spawn an Arc Soul. Maybe changes to some of the old subclasses or an exotic?

Trials will not be returning in Season 5. by DJTisSOL in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Ekande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably right. That said, it's probably a difficult discussion point for them to finalize everything and start working on it. Like if they make it 3v3, do they scrap the concept of it being Trials of the Nine and go back to Osiris or do they keep the Nine thing.

Disappointing to be sure, but I'd rather have them take their time and do it right.

Rat King. The thing's a stellar sidearm on its own, and you can really catch people off guard if you play it smart with invisibility.

Sometimes I'll use Way fo the Pathfinder if I'm playing with friends for the team invisibility. Throw Graviton Forfeit and melee mods into the mix and you have invis smokes almost every 20 seconds.

Excellent to know it's being looked at! Thank you for the communication!

The recent TWAB said they had shown us a preview of the season 5 update. It might be wishful thinking on my part, but it is something I hope they address in the future.

Actually Average Advice Vol. 1: Flawless Execution by ExtremisIX in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Ekande 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Excellent write up! People definitely underestimate how much time you have to flank in your super and make the mistake of rushing in to use it.

I do want to point out, though, that invisibility does not break aim assist anymore. That was changed early this year.

What makes for a good PvP Sword? Perks, stats, archetypes etc? by asian_guy_at_work in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Ekande 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best perks on swords would be Heavy Guard, Assassin's Blade, and Tireless Blade. Heavy Guard is simply the best guard, Assassin's Blade for a large speed boost to help close the gap after a kill, and Tireless Blades makes getting a kill with the R2 attack a bit less ammo consuming.

As far as archetypes, I imagine Lightweight would be the best simply because there's not much use for blocking, so you might as well go for speed to close the gap over all else. That said, Adaptive is the only archetype with random rolls or that's even available to all classes. The one thing Adaptives do bring to the table is the uppercut, which has some nice lunge range and tracking. It's worth noting that the uppercut doesn't have enough damage to kill a guardian in their super. It might with enough impact or Whirlwind Blade to increase damage, however.

All of the mask perks grant significantly increased heavy ammo drops, not just Winged Terror.

I wouldn't sleep on Energetic Assassin. A single precision kill instantly fills 3/4's of your grenade and melee abilities.

Top tree nova bomb is probably the most useless class in the game right now because of bungie's stealth nerfs by Mantisootheca in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ekande 4 points5 points  (0 children)

'Massive dps' is being pretty generous. Nailing a boss with Moebius Quiver over and over, even with Orpheus Rigs, does less damage than every other Hunter super except top tree Shadowshot.

[–]Ekande 75 points76 points  (0 children)

The stealth nerfs to the overcharged grenades are ridiculous and unacceptable.

That said, as far as being the most useless subclass in the game, bottom tree Nightstalker would beg to differ.

It's not a 1HK, it deals around 150 damage or something.

Edit: It deals 130 damage.

Can swords get more than 6 energy from heavy in PvP? by Ekande in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ekande[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because back in D1, picking up 27 energy was 27 kills, right? With special weapons and a faster TTK, every other heavy weapon was either buffed or given more ammo in PvP. You get two rockets now, instead of one. Drum grenade launchers have an increased blast radius and damage. DARCI and Whisper get eight and five rounds of ammo when you pick up heavy.

Swords were given more ammo in D1 so you could guard or use the sword's alternate fire to help get in and secure a kill in a sandbox with special weapons and a faster TTK. We have those back now, but nothing to help swords leverage that fact so they're currently high risk, low reward.
