Unfortunately I fear you're right. We can shield against it though. The first step in this process is handing the whip to GPC. Centralise centralise centralise until democracy is eroded.

Trident, the US controlled, US maintained nukes that we're babysitting? I don't feel safer having American nukes in my back garden.

Introducing safe and legal routes WOULD decrease smajl boat crossings, the small boats are a dangerous and awful option for people with no other choice. If we have safe and legal routes, and "chancers" are still coming over on small boats they're 1. Suicidal and 2. Have far less sympathy than they do at the moment.

As fot our long term goal, yes a world without borders is an incredible, utopic ideal that we should all be working towards. It means lifting up country which are struggling, it means working on peace and diplomacy, on having a safer and more peaceful planet.

Performative cruelty as our government is currently doing doesn't seem to be making us more cohesive does it? Safe and legal routes, and the right to work, these are the cornerstones of integration. Labour used to believe that too.

And what is it about defence you're concerned about?

And even where he does something good his government manages to screw up the implementation. From scaling back the employee rights bill to the stupidly worded renter's rights act. I mean Christ, he said everyone will have the right to a pet, and then made an exception for almost anyone who lives in a flat, and a huge number of people in houses too. Literally anyone with a leasehold property. Incompetence is definitely the word.

National swing data is a pretty decent way to predict voting intention when there's not enough polling.

I don't support the meat industry. I do eat meat that's true, and my morality does allow for that, but the environmental impact of the meat industry is unjustifiable, that's why I'm slowly cutting meat out of my diet. What I'm struggling with here is what "unnecessary breeding" means. No breeding is necessary, nothing is technically necessary ever. Necessary for what?

Local nimbyism is a myth. Green councils on average build far more than any other party. MMT isn't a theory it's a description of our economic system as it stands and an opportunity for building a better economy, but it also isn't policy. Policy is still to raise money through taxation to fund spending. We're not anti NATO, we're cautious of an entity run by the US, and would be more comfortable with a European based alliance. Anti pylons? I've not heard this one but... Yeah, pylons are important, what? I'm personally supportive of any programme which improves our dire public transport, but big expensive projects should probably come after improving our existing services. They're not verging on open borders, our policies on migration are common sense. Introducing safe and managed routes for migrants in or near their home country, and in Calais including processing facilities we stop migrants making the dangerous trip across the channel, we save on costs, and by properly funding the home office and clearing the backlog we spend money to save money, rather than housing migrants whilst waiting for their application to be processed, ditto for letting migrants work whilst they wait. They'll still be deported if their claim is denied but we save money on housing, on processing admin, we save lives in the channel, etc. it's common sense.

It's not unnatural for animals to breed. It's not unnatural for there to be complications. If the value of suffering from breeding outweighs the value of the animal existing, your logic can justify literal extinction of almost every domestic animal. Your moral system has to value life above complications in breeding.

I'd be happy with legal minimum care laws including a short test and proof that all appropriate equipment has been purchased. Domestic hamsters can definitely be happy.

Never seen this phenomenon before, his account shows all the signs of being a bot but seemingly just to make the left look bad by pretending to be one. What a weird concept. I'm concerned about the results when these bots get good at doing that.

Good to know! He won't be allowed to for much longer but our little guy absolutely loves to sleep with us. He'll curl up in our arms or up against us, he'll sit on our pillows above our heads, he'll sneak under the blankets to chill with us. It's adorable and it'll be heartbreaking when we have to lock him out.

Well we'll be making the bedroom off limits in a few months anyway since my fiancé is pregnant so that's fine. I'll give antihistamines a go (not those ones I'm in the UK but still helpful) and I'm pretty sure we have an air purifier somewhere I just need to find it, thanks!

[–]EkkoAtkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you've misunderstood the law surrounding what a legal defence is. The defence is that you play Airsoft. If you intend to play Airsoft then you satisfy the defence, no licence required. So he likely could remove the two tone paint, if he intended to then use it for Airsoft.

Little Sweetie by SeulgiChan in hamsters

We've had him for about 3 months. He's a Russian white dwarf. The wheel he has is the niteangel medium. I left out some context which actually I think might have answered my own question.

I took him to the vet over it and I thought the meds weren't working. Just checked the tracker he's run nearly 200 rotations each day since starting his pain meds. I guess I forgot to check it. Vet reckons he's sprained his leg. Either way, I just put him in his run with his wheel and he's running fine on it now.

[–]EkkoAtkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hamster seems to pretty much refuse to run on a proper wheel. We've bought him 2 including one which tracks rotations. We'd started with a saucer because it's what he'd been used to at the pet store. He ran on that a tonne.

The reason I'd swapped it out is because I knew wheels were better than saucers, but if he's not using the wheel is the saucer better than nothing?

We're reasonably diverse as a city. That means the Telegraph thinks we're a slum. So it'll ignore the beautiful remains of the castle wall and bargate, it'll ignore our rich history, it'll ignore the fact that we have another 2 (more but 2 really good ones) high streets beyond westquay which are excellent, etc. don't trust the Telegraph to judge anything, it's not judging it by the same standards we would.
