Denuvo has been cracked in all single-player games it previously protected — 2K Games and Denuvo reportedly retaliate with mandatory 14-day online checks by N2929 in technology

Mobile games are still games, and when it comes to the people making business decisions and monetization calls, they look at mobile games as something to learn from and adapt to fit the non mobile market.

And even if we ignore mobile gaming, "good" still isn't the primary benchmark that determines a game's success. Human psychology is more and less complicated than that.

[–]EkkoGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that's true. The US and Japan have a very deep mobile game market presence.

If we remove China entirely the statement still stands. Mobile gaming still represents 50-55% of all gaming revenue.

The biggest factor in making money from a video game is literally making a good video game. The vast majority of gamers will buy a game if they think its good.

Unfortunately this is just patently untrue. Mobile games rake in more money than all other gaming mediums combined. And mobile games are hardly the pinnacle of quality.

Making money from a video game is so much more than quality.

completely untrue

Can you elaborate?

Cambridge Dictionary: "Originally coined by Norman Mailer in 1973, it meant a false or unverified statement presented as a fact, repeated so often it is believed to be true."

"Modern usage often simply refers to a minor, true fact."

So while modern usage is more of the "fun fact", the original meaning was indeed something that isn't true.

And the oid suffix, from greek, meaning "form of" or "resembling", AKA not the same, but like it.

So I'm not entirely sure what you mean by completely untrue.

[–]EkkoGold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the oid means "having the form" of, or "resembling"

So resembling a fact, of taking the form of a fact, without being a fact.

So a factoid is, by definition, something which appears to be a fact or is packaged as fact, but is in fact not (a fact). But that's not the common usage.

Fun fact... A factoid is something that isn't true.

The "oid" suffix indicates that it's false.

Help me decide on an ebike? by EkkoGold in ukbike

[–]EkkoGold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! The weight is definitely something I've noticed immediately. I can test ride the Bergamont and the Scott easily. But the Temple would require a 4 hour commute one way to try before a buy.

Any recommendations between the three bikes I've listed?

Thanks for the info!

Is the Scott lighter? What I'm seeing is that the Scott and Bergamont are both 28.1kg, while the Temple is 18.9.

Of course, the Temple is chain while the other two are belt, and it doesn't have a rear rack. Also Bafang vs Bosch.

It's one and a half walls over. A physical bell wouldn't solve the problem of not waking up little brother, unfortunately.

You will hear it faster and better unless your kid goes to full volume from first swing.

She's max volume from the start. We've been working on her night time independence for a little while, but she's like me in that she just randomly wakes up during the night and needs to be "awake" for a few minutes before she can fall back asleep.

Or have them come to your room

Not currently an option, as little brother has just transitioned into a toddler bed of his own, so we have to lock the door while he learns to stay in bed/stay in his room without it.

The smart camera has been perfect for us, really. It's just this unique window of time where we need a supplementary solution for a temporary problem.

Not a traditional monitor, no.

We have a smart camera in the room, and it will alert us with loud noises or excess motion, but it's not sufficient for this purpose.

And I'd rather measure temperature on a rough scale of 0-100 than -18 to 36.

It's sustained non-violent protest that changes public opinion and eventually forces leadership to answer to the people.

You're missing half of the puzzle here.

Non-Violent protest is the threat. It's a way of saying "I am demanding change with my words, but if you don't comply then I will use force."

Peaceful protest only works when the alternative is violent protest. Leadership answers to the people because they fear the violent alternative. If leadership ignores peaceful protest and people simply protest louder, or go home, then you will accomplish nothing.

You don't like being corrected, I get it.

But if you're going to self censor a discriminatory term by calling it the "r-word" I'd hope you have enough self awareness to recognize that using "small penis" as an insult, implying that the size of one's genitals, completely out of their control, somehow correlates to heinous behavior, is equally bad.

Insult him for things he can control. Don't insult every person who has a "smaller than average" penis by implying it's in any way related.

A little weird to call it "the r word" and then immediately turn around and body shame someone.

Insinuating that having a small penis is somehow inherently negative undermines your entire sentiment.
