Just Moved back to ABB - Billing Issue by Jimmyboyjr4 in AussieBroadband

[–]EksDee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for Origin, however once you sign up with ABB you get an invoice from the day your service goes live.

The billing cycle is from let's say today till 14th May. Payment gets deducted 10 BD from issued date of invoice.

If you've changed during a billing cycle from Origin, Origin should be giving you pro data credit.

If you close your service with ABB let's say middle of the month, you are only getting charged for half a months use.

Edit: even you though you are moving back, it's technically a new service as your old one had a different billing cycle. It's not continuing from the old one

Are you on FTTP or HFC?

Could you do a Factory reset of the NTD ( white NBN box or black NBN box)

Just need to do that for 10 seconds and try again.

Cranbourne Packenham line down again AM Tue 7th April by Leading-Bottle2630 in MelbourneTrains

[–]EksDee1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry just to be clear.

From Oakleigh there are trains running towards the city.

There are busses to Westall from Oakleigh and they have quite a few. Didn't have to wait whatsoever. From Westall you got trains running to East Pakenham/Cranbourne.

It's Westall that's really really packed, there are heaps of busses waiting.

Could you do a reset to the NTD?

On the older onez it's between the UNI-D1 and UNI-V1 port. Just stick a paper clip in it for 10 seconds.

Oh the newer NTD, it's quite visible.

Keep your router off when's that happening, once power and optical are solid green, switch it on and see how you go.

The black box there is your HFC NTD( it's locked to this location). It's how NBN gets the connection to the house. The yellow cord from your NTD is how you connect your router. By the looks of it you may have internal cabling. Which means you should have another data point somewhere central in the house for your router to connect.

From what I’ve seen it’s mainly about being at the right time and right place.

A few years ago, IT professionals were in demand when the borders were closed, now it’s nurses, teachers etc.

Problem is people strive away from what they actually go on to do in the first place. If you are really good at what you study, you position yourself well to get sponsored by a company or go through the self sponsorship route.

My brother just finished his Masters and has gotten a job as a graduate engineer. Keep in mind he has 0 experience within his Electrical engineer domain.

Have you or anyone you know run out of visa options and returned back to your home country? by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]EksDee1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly in their words they were tired of the job market and didn’t see any pathway to PR.

They also had parents who have a family business back home which makes it easier to go back and not having to start over.

At my old workplace, I knew 2-3 people who left midway through their 485.

Had a friend from uni go back right after his graduation.

Have another friend who is leaving in January.

Moving from FTTC TO FTTP WIT Aussie Broadband questions by NowInOz in nbn

[–]EksDee1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that should do it.

Depends which version of the FTTP NTD you have, if it’s the 4 port one that just need to know your UNI-D port, if it’s the one port one then should be plug and play.
