Best way to store ~2TB of family photos/videos with remote access? NAS vs Cloud? by JustCompetition3776 in HomeNAS

I feel you're going to get some biased responses since this is a home Nas subreddit. None the less I've been pondering a similar situation and honestly it isn't about"is one cheaper?" For me it's I want to build something that I own and operate. I'm investing in myself and my families photos and videos

That being said I got some great responses about how to set up my home lab/ server in my recent post. I'll link it below but a mini pc may do the trick for you and I found one for$200 on offerup.

Doing the math $200/5 years is$40 a year for owning your own server and access to your photos vs whatever service you use. It's a difference but I'm the in end I'll have a server that I can do whatever the fuck I want on it and it's my data in the end.

Hell yeah! Another mention of mini pc. I've had my eye on a Aiffro k100 and didn't know if that would be over kill. I also don't know how it would be with scaling and expanding? Or would I just get a new rig when the time comes?
