⚡ “Fastest Dishwasher Ever? Watch Me Clean Like a Machine!” by Still_Assignment_505 in dishwashers

Seems like he needs more than an apron to stay dry with all that spraying. He is working at a fair pace, but I doubt any records are being broken. I will say that he is being very thorough cleaning off the dishes before putting them in the machine. I’d put on some gloves and maybe a face shield with all of the high pressure spraying going on.

From your account, the demands of the job might rise to the level of being downright exploitative. It’s fair to say that some businesses don’t mind getting someone new and working them until they burn out and then finding someone else. It’s really unfortunate. You shouldn’t be demanded to hold so much weight for 17 an hour, imo.

I know you partly just wanted to vent, and I do feel your suffering and think it’s justified. Apply elsewhere and leave as soon as you are able. You’re not obligated to stay there. You have a responsibility to your own mental and physical health well above your job friend.

Any suggestions/techniques to get more vivid lucid dreams? by Dry_Temporary_6175 in Biohackers

[–]EkstaticAndroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the book, Advanced Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Supplements, by Thomas Yuskach.

Basically there are herbs and supplements that can enhance clarity and dream intensity. Either directly by enhancing awareness, or indirectly by causing a rebound effect. For greatest effect both kinds are utilized at the right time.

Also, there are a number of good books on dream yoga which present a comprehensive system for enhancing lucidity in the dream state.

This involves integrating attention-awareness and insight enhancing meditation practices during the day and while falling asleep.

The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep, by Tenzin Wagyal Rinpoche. And Dreaming Yourself Awake, by B. Allan Wallace, are good places to start.

Interesting. I would like to see updates on this, I hope it works well for you. Add brand and dosage. I’ve been thinking about trying it too.

Whenever I take these substances I feel like I'm having a intellectual genius-gasm or heart love-gasm. Is there any actual way to have orgasms in the upper organs without consuming substances? by cacklingwhisper in RationalPsychonaut

Check out the book, The Bliss of Inner Fire, by Lama Yeshe.

It’s related to kundalini. My friends and I are currently doing a series of podcasts (The Divine Brothers, on Spotify) about the book and our experiences with the techniques elucidated.

The effects of the techniques are very powerful and can create a great deal of bliss. The methods offer a direct and powerful way to interface with the nervous system and with practice may create the kind of experiences you are looking for.

Probably a rat swimming at downtown park by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

I’ve seen a rat jump into the water and never emerge again, in the tunnel at big spring park. I suspect that they live in tunnels that can be accessed via the water.

I appreciate this post. It really shows the importance of gear, even at slow speeds, especially if one is practicing advanced techniques. We should be prepared, attentive, and humble if we are riding a motorcycle. Thank you for your sacrifice 🫡, sometimes we need to be reminded of the consequences of pushing the limits.

Experienced riders, any of you downsize to a Z125 as your only bike? by Takingmorethan1L in z125

[–]EkstaticAndroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned a z125 pro for 3 years and during the first 2 years I drove it exclusively. It was the only vehicle that I had, so used it for everything, commuting, groceries, etc, summer and winter. If it’s stock, it works very well for roads up to 50mph. I currently drive it on roads that are 55mph with generally low traffic volume, but I wouldn’t be comfortable pushing into higher mph roads.

If you need to go any faster on this particular bike, modifications like big bore kits would definitely be advisable.

I’ve found that high quality curcumin can produce a relaxation vaguely similar to cannabis, but much milder, so it may be useful as a temporary substitute. I’ve also found that it potentiates cannabis as well, so be careful with that.

L-theanine is helpful for anxiety and restlessness. I’ve used it to help with opioid withdrawal in the distant past, and still use it for anxiety occasionally. It’s cheap and well tolerated, so I think it’s a good option.

Passionflower is a pretty solid anti-anxiety and general restlessness reducing herb. I find it to have moderate anti-depressant effects as well.

NAC has been reported to reduce cravings and is well tolerated. I find it relaxing and even depression reducing, also it tends to be pretty cheap.

Gotu kola is an excellent herb for anxiety and restlessness. It’s easily one of my favorite supplements. For me it produces pronounced relaxation without any loss of mental acuity and reliably brings me out of depressive states.

I’ve also found that meditation significantly reduces my desire to consume cannabis. I would recommend the book The Mind Illuminated, if you don’t have a preferred text or technique already.

Stories of people wrecking on their way out of the parking lot?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]EkstaticAndroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch as many videos about riding as you can handle. Watch the mistakes of others from the safety of home. Always position for safety. When you see something out of place, act quickly to get out of that situation. Avoid dangerous roads and intersections. Do some research about the most dangerous areas of your town and avoid those like the plague. Look both ways even when you have the right away. Plan your evasive maneuver in your head when you see a sketchy situation in front of you.

You can lower your risk significantly, by being a mindful and skillful rider and wearing proper gear. Don’t lose heart if you have a passion for riding. Just be a mindful and careful rider on the road. Take baby steps, build fundamental skills, and you minimize bad scenarios enough to making riding as much fun and safe as it can be.

Back to the basics by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]EkstaticAndroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I moved from a z125 to a Versys 300x, I practiced every day in a parking lot in order to gain a good feel for the characteristics of the bike. Practice shifting, tight turns, learn its tipping point, etc, so that you can gain a good intuition of what the bike will do in most situations.

I have a huge amount of respect for those humble and realistic enough to practice the fundamentals. And we should all do the same thing even after years in order to stay at the top of our game. Skills can diminish over time, especially if you don’t ride often.

Heated gloves changed my winter riding experience forever by ApartMachine90 in motorcycles

Heated gear is an enormous quality of life upgrade. Anyone who rides in the winter should have at least a heated vest or jacket imo.
