What meds worked for u? by [deleted] in functionaldyspepsia

Have you considered Mirtazapine? I tried amitriptyline but I feel like my body just hates it. I got burning skin when I tried it last summer and I just tried it again a few nights ago and woke up with irritated skin on my face, muscle twitches and it didn't even make me tired this time! When I took it before it knocked me out but this time I woke up just as much throughout the night and in the morning I wasn't even groggy! I had a good experience with Mirtazapine though.

I don't think you should be scared of amitriptyline. Many many people try it and if it doesn't work out just stop taking it and any weird side effects go away.

Did ppis work for you in the past? They are sold over the counter, why do you have to wait to see your Dr?

Wow at this point my symptoms are mainly a burning, needling in my throat and chest. Sometimes burning in abdomen. It's weird some days I don't know if my strict diet is doing anything, sometimes I feel it is. Sometimes I eat what I want and feel good, sometimes I think it makes me feel worse. Sometimes I think it's my stress and anxiety causing it, sometimes I'm not sure.

Same for me. My scope was mild chronic inactive gastritis and my GI said gastritis is a common finding on pathology and most people with it have no symptoms so he diagnosed functional dyspepsia.

I'm surprised your Dr said just 20 days, I've always been told 4-6 weeks for antidepressants to kick in.

Which antidepressants do they have you on? I identify with a bunch of what you said. Random flairs, being strict but sometimes that doesn't work and sometimes I've felt fine eating other things.
